He knows he has no other way of getting over the hump. Some of that has to be attributed to a lack of parity making him maybe feel like he doesn't have a choice (if he doesn't believe in Russ being a championship-level PG then this really was the only move for him unless he wanted to take his chances with an unproven C's team or ChokeP3), but still... to go to the team that you easily could have closed out... they call it being a FREE agent for a reason, but damn...
