deserved! he tried everything for being competitive the last years....just didnt work out. now he is getting paid with the ne salary cap! nice!

Dirk Nowitzki (german interview): "If i cared about having a hierarchy in terms of salary pecking orders i wouldnt have left so much money on the table in the past few years. Last year our highest paid players were Wesley Matthews and Chandler Parsons, but our best players were actually Deron Williams and me."

Makes it more likely that his full playing career is for the Mavs.

Except compared to Kobe, Dirk took a pay cut. The max was $31 million. He 's only getting $20 million.

dirks real paycut was first in 2010 and then in 2014, signing a 3 year deal with 8mio/year while still being mavs best player and one of the best PF

I wasn't aware he could ever jump. You don't need to when you are a 7 footer with an invincible fadeaway. :facepalm

It'll be cool to see Dirk spend his whole career with the Mavs.

Taking paycuts since his prime and yet all he could muster was 1 ring.

Karma is a b*tch aint it? The basketball Gods frown upon this type of shortcutting.
