View Full Version : Has Anyone Needed As Much Help as Bron to Win 3 Rings?

Taking talent of competition into account?

Actually 2 rings and 1* asterisk ring(Lockout Shortened Season):

D Wade
Tristan Thompson
Mike Miller
Rashard Lewis
JR Smith
Haslem
C Bosh
Ray Allen
Kevin Love
Kyrie Irving
Beasley
Battier
James Jones
Oden

At his PEAK, and due still got embarrassed by geriatric teams with past their prime stars in 2011 and 2014.

Meanwhile past his prime Kobe won with:

Gasol
Ariza
Fisher
Artest
1 legged Bynum(6 pts and 5 reb averages in the playoffs:oldlol: )

How many 3's did Miller hit in that deciding game of the finals?

6?:lol

LeBron was the underdog in two of his 3 finals wins. And they won in 2013 with minimal help. Bosh scored zero points in game 7 and let Duncan eat him alive. And wade was good for two games.

Has LeBron ever had a teammate average over 35ppg in a series? How about 15rpg?

I'd say that guy got the most help.

NBAGOAT

no the answer to this question is Magic or Bird. They had really stacked teams and usually only had 1-2 other teams to even worry about in the playoffs. Not everything is about Lebron/Kobe.

LeBron was unquestionably the FMVP every time he's won. Can't say the same for someone else's first 3 titles

Then Bogut and Iggy get injured, Green gets suspended and LeCheat takes advantage:rolleyes:

Give Kobe a team with a 6-6 center and it's best perimeter defender injured and he's literally averaging 45 a game.

Not getting carried by Kyrie's scoring.

injured for a game, nice cherrypicking. I also recall some team in 04 that had a center maybe an inch taller than Draymond playing the Lakers in Finals. Kobe must've destroyed them right?

It wouldn't make a difference what size the center is for Kobe. He would still take jumpshots which he bricks at a 59% rate in the finals.

For all the help Bron supposedly had, has a team with 33 wins or less ever gone to the finals the very next season post NBA/ABA merger? That is what Bron walked into and helped get to the finals.

James Jones has started like 40 games in the last 10 years. Michael Beasley has only played 23 playoff minutes on a team with Lebron James on it....which is more than the 7 Greg Oden played. Talking about Bynum putting up 6 points a game in the playoffs then posting Haslem....who has not even put up 6 in the playoffs since Lebron was on the Cavs...the first go round.

You have been doing this too long to troll so poorly.

I realize most people just want an excuse to go on with their LeBron/Kobe obsessions, but just to answer the question, players in the past needed more help/better teammates because the top teams were deeper.

Larry Bird won 3 rings. One of them was 1984, when he played with HOFers Kevin McHale, Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, all of whom were in or near their primes. In the finals they beat the Lakers, which had Magic Johnson in his prime, Kareem still playing at a high level and made All-NBA first team, HOFer James Worthy emerging as a force in his 2nd year, HOFer Jamaal Wilkes who was still putting up 17 PPG, and guys like Byron Scott, Michael Cooper, and HOFer Bob McAdoo, who was nearing the end of his career.

In 1986, Bird had those same HOFers there, only McHale was even more developed 2 years later, Danny Ainge had grown into a solid starer, and HOFer Bill Walton playing a terrific reserve role and winning Sixth Man of the Year. They defeated the Rockets, which had Akeem Olajuwon (already the best center by his 2nd year even if Kareem won 1st team All-NBA by reputation), all-star Ralph Sampson before the injuries, a talented backcourt in John Lucas and Lewis Lloyd.

The Lakers and Celtics in the 80s were just very deep in talent, as was the Sixers in the early 80s.

Aiit bro. Going a little overboard. Bynum was a 7'1 body in the paint that had decent footwork for a year and a half. Don't turn into the rest of these trolls that say Pau Gasol = Shaq.

No need to overrate Oden or Bynum. They both sucked the majority of their career and plagued by injuries like the strong majority of 7 footers in the NBA.

:biggums: you can't be serious. I'm not saying Bynum is Howard or even Al Jefferson level. Oden did nothing in his NBA career however. Bynum has an all-nba team and all star game on his resume and was decent during the RS from 09-10.

Do you believe that Bynum was an ALL-STAR?

Yes or no question.

It's just too much sometimes man. Bynum was beastly at times and very Hakeem Thabeetish the other half of the time.

Dude had multiple 20+ rebound games, but many of them were very deceiving. Not just about the numbers. You had to watch that goon for an entire season. Benched for many stupid things.

technically no. There weren't really many centers worth mentioning back then however besides Howard. Big Al most likely should've made it over him but that's basically it and he's got his flaws too. Yes I remember Bynum getting benched for dumb shit(who could forget that 3 pointer). Even if he wasn't all star level, why can't u be honest and admit however that you're comparing freaking Greg Oden to Bynum. I wouldn't mention a thing even if you brought up a scrub like Chris Kaman.

What the fuuuuck????

On an honest level, Kaman has had a better career than both Bynum (rings excluded) and Odom combined. Kaman has been a contributor in the NBA since his Clipper days...and still in the NBA even though he gets no PT on the Blazers.

Oden sucked due to injuries and Bynum sucked due to apathy. But yeah, Bynum sucked less and was in a situation where he could thrive. Lol. We good now?

i'm fine with almost everyone on this board even if they say something I disagree with. Agree to disagree with Kaman, he's a contributor and can start on some bad teams in his younger days but he's really replacement level. Also, one of the worst all stars we've seen in awhile even if he scored 18ppg tht year.
