Yeah this move makes zero sense from a basketball stand point. Not for the Nuggets and not for Wade. Guess with Wade they could try for the 5th-8th seed if his body doesn't break down & and Gallo plays 65+ games.

Seems more like a PR/fill the arena/try to become relevant move on the Nugget side, and get paid by Wade. Look at the contracts being given out. Wade might just be pissed off enough that he just wants that final payday. Denver's probably just thinking of how much of a win it is to land a big fish like Wade.

Beasley/Harris/Murray/Mudiay/Jokic/Nurkic/Gomez. Barton/Faried are still pretty young. Gallo isn't that old yet. Nuggets have a crazy collection of youth/assets. Own all there draft picks, tons of capspace, that Memphis pick could eventually be valuable. I'd rather we didn't sign Wade. Stay patient and wait it out. Continue the rebuild and hope something comes along/our young develop into stars/fringe stars.

Mia gets - W Chandler + M Beasley + Lauvergne + Toupane

Yeah it's a win win for both. Wade uses Denver as leverage, Denver uses Wade to get some media attention/show fans there trying to be aggressive/become slightly relevant for a minute.

Shows the nuggets front office trying to improve. We have extra money to spend. Hopefully it's a 2 year deal. He can mentor our young roster and is still a good player. Doesn't mortgage our future at all

Since you're only looking at it from Denver's perspective - Wade gets paid more (i.e. happier) and it frees up PT for Harris/Murray/etc and it makes more sense not to have 90% of your roster be wings?

Toupane would be gone. Beasley will have to wait his turn. (Plus he's hurt right now).

If Wade signs with Denver, it means the Nuggets FO was able to pitch him on another trade for a guy like Griffin or Love. Wade wouldn't go there to play on his own or with just Gallo.

Nuggets are in prime position to make a trade for a second superstar (cousins?) tho they would have to make some tough decisions

But the main reason to do this is sell tickets, and it's a valid reason. Literally zero downside to this as its a two year deal and DWade will play somewhat limited and we can still develop our youngsters

Faried and Barton would most likely be traded regardless
