Lebron
Nike D'Antoni

Lebron James. Even if Golden State finish with better record, Durant - Curry will hurt their chances.

LeBron doesn't care about the regular season anymore.
my pick is Westbrook, he knows how to fill up the stats sheet and few adjustments to the Thunder team, and they can win 50+ games.

Either Westbrook or AD or Kawhi

Westbrook won't get the regular season wins. It's not going to happen.

Seems Lebron has biggest chance to others .

Westbrook or Kawhi
LeBron can get it if Spurs or Thunder underpeform.
Or just Curry again

Westbrook or Kawhi
Is the only answer.
The media won't give anyone from the Warriors an MVP regardless how well they play. It will be similar to 2011 with Curry and Durant both putting up comparable stats, so they will keep each other from getting it. Villains, etc.
LeBron doesn't care about the regular season anymore and will be older/will lose another step.
Westbrook, as long as he doesn't get injured for a bunch of games like in 2015 where he was injured for a ton of games as well as Durant, Ibaka and a lot of other Thunder players and still barely missed the play offs putting up prime Oscar numbers, will win 50+ games easily. Adams will take another leap and will be a monster next season.
Leonard is going to take another huge leap and get even closer to prime Jordan/Bird level. He's a hard worker and has improved drastically every season he's been in the league. Just turned 25, so we're still yet to see the best of him.
Already one of the best 3-point and mid range shooters in the league, can finish in traffick, can post up from anywhere on the floor, fade-away jay's, catch-and-shoots, you name it he does it. One of the most underrated scoring arsenals in the game today. Then you add DPOY defense on top of it all and MVP is all but guaranteed.
Came in second last season and Parker will be a year older as well as Duncan/Manu if they decide to come back. Will have a bigger load than ever and will rise to the occasion. I'm expecting 25+ PPG, 7+ RPG, 4+ APG, 2+ SPG, 1+ BPG.

Top teams with record
Golden State Chokers, Spurs & Cleveland.
Durant - Curry hurting each other chances, would mean it will be down to Leonard vs Lebron..whoever with better team record.

Durant and Curry cancel each other, Rockets and OKC won't win enough so that eliminates Harden and Westbrook, and NOH isn't going to leapfrog in the standings so that eliminates Davis.
So Lebron, Kawhi may have a small chance but I'll stick with Bron.

I'd say this is the most accurate statement so far. More or less it's between Bron and Leonard

Don't underestimate the value of a good storyline. Also, a lot of people will be voting against Curry and Durant, so I don't see either one of them winning.
I think Leonard is the favorite, but Westbrook does have a shot.

Do people still not understand how the voting works despite history showing us?
Durant/Curry won't get it just like 2011 Wade/Lebron didn't get it because they hurt each other's chances.
Westbrook won't get it because he won't have the team record like 2006 Kobe.
It'll either be Lebron/Kawhi, or maybe even Harden is he has another 2015 type year.

Paul George
26/7/5
Pacers 3rd seed. 52 wins. Less than 3 games shy of the first seed.

Not true at all.
If Russ stays on the Thunder all year he will have a great shot.
It is all about expectations. The Thunder will be expected by most to drop off more than they actually will...especially in terms of regular season wins.
The Thunder could easily win like 50 to 55 games if they improve the roster a little more with their cap space.
If Russ does 28/8/10 and leads the Thunder to mid 50's wins...it is going to be hard for any player to beat that.
Lebron will pace himself in the regular season, it is almost impossible for a Warriors player to win it, Harden's perception is too bad currently...
Leonard, Paul, and Davis would have a shot, but I'd favor Russ over them for sure.
Who is your front runner if Russ stayed on OKC all year?

I got Davis or George, with a dark horse in the beard. When big teams make big moves there is always a surprise element floating around.
Kawhi

James.

The correct answer is LeBron.
He will push Cleveland to 60 wins, and his 25\8\7 statline will be enough.

I got Westbrook if the Thunder can maybe add a starting PF/SF and 1,2 decent players of the bench they will win enough for Russ to get the nod.
But George, CP3 and Davis are good shouts as well and of course the my darkhorse candidate and ultimate homer pick Melo :oldlol:

Very unpredictable but **** it.
1. LeBron-he realizes if he gets MVP and FMVP next season
he is top 2 GOAT. I think after this upcoming season his athleticism will take a noticeable hit, so he will be more motivated than ever. Needs to get that jumper consistent.
2. Kevin Durant- Will be go to option on what could be an all time team. Offense fits him perfectly, and he will get his shots (draymond green is going to sacrifice offense to be DPOY next year.)
3. Kawhi Leonard- going to be the same two-way monster with additional offensive load.
4. Steph Curry- too good of a season this year to fall to far next season, in his prime. He could easily win MVP again next season.
5. Kyrie Irving- Confidence would be at all time high after being a hero in championship and also potentially brining home gold. He is going to be fun to watch next season, and could also be darkhorse MVP candidate.
6. Paul George- really really good player that will be in his prime as well.
7. Anthony Davis- future MVP who is still growing but already a monster.
8. Andrew Wiggins- I think he takes a huge leap next year and will develop into a 25 ppg scorer. One of quickest players for his size in NBA.
9. Dame Lillard- this guy is all heart, and an animal.
10. Carmelo Anthony- going to finally have an athletic playmaker for a point guard, that will create opportunities for him. I think he has a nice bounce back year.

Team is better now imo. Russ is better now.
They still won 45 games that year...they were going through transition with Reggie and Kanter...and the Durant unknown.
I bet the win total for them is around 49...

49 seems reasonable, but lets just say for shits and giggles he pushes them to about 52 wins, which is MAXIMUM in my opinion, and Russ averages about 27\7\7 (LeBron average statline)
That is still not enough.
LeBron coming off an FMVP and a title now has the confidence to pursue the 1 and 2 GOAT spots. Plus he just realized his two biggest competitors joined forces. I believe when LeBron wants to push for MVP, he gets it. Getting that 5th MVP would be insane for his resume.

It depends on what other people do of course.
Totally agree if Lebron pushes for it...he gets it.
I think Russ could push them higher at the absolute max as well.

if the thunder aren't a top 3 seed in the west i don't think he has much of a chance..and i'm 95% sure 49~ wins isn't gonna get you a top 3 seed in the west

I never claimed 49 would. I said something around mid 50's would put him right there.
Take a step back and think about this year for MVP if there was no Curry...and Russ led the Thunder to 53 wins without Durant.
Russ wasn't that far back of Leonard this year...think about that.
This is a guy that just got 4th in voting while his team didn't really meet expectations in the regular season and he shared his team with the guy that finished 5th.

How did I forget about PG13:facepalm
He's in the top 3 for MVP discussion.
I can't wait to see him now that he has a solid supporting cast again.
As of right now I'd say it's Kawhi. The Warriors will all cancel each other out and I don't see Lebron pushing hard enough all season to be a real threat to the award.
But more importantly, watch out for any team that makes a jump in the standings. If Indiana do well, Paul George will jump right up there. If the Wolves make a leap, watch for KAT (or Wiggins if he's the catalyst) Anthony Davis or something like that. Especially in the age of the Golden State Superteam, I think the media will be particularly interested in an underdog story - and a player flourishing on a recently successful team will be perfect for that.
