View Full Version : Were Westbrook and Durant only pretending to be bros?

Do you think that Durant and Westbrook are true bros? On the court it would sometimes seem like they resented each other, but they always had eachothers backs during press conferences and Russell always went out of his way to refer to Durant as the true leader of the Thunder, even when Durant didn't play like it.

Do you think Westbrook and Durant are true bros or did they secretly resent each other the whole time?

If Durant was truly Westbrook's bro, would he really abandon him in hicktown OKC like that?

It will be funny if Kanter and Adams are given more focus in the offense to replace Durant and Westbrook and OKC murder Golden State in the playoffs. It is a very real possibility.

I think its possible to be good teammates and not be good friends.

I don't think they liked each as much as they tried to make it seem. A lot of the reports coming out are mostly PR, but some of it may indeed be true.

think it's actually the opposite from what I heard media people say. They were good friends off the court but weren't that great chemistry wise on the court.

From what I heard they did not like each other, also the other okc players were not happy with Durant and his relationships with Green and Curry during the playoff.

Heard this too. Westbrook could sometimes be out of control to the point nobody could control him, including himself. Off the court, I heard they were cool.

yep but I guess that's a good thing about Westbrook. I've heard media people say Durant has a huge group of advisors(like even bigger than Lebron's) that's always changing and he's really concerned about stuff like legacy and public perception. Westbrook doesn't give a **** about any of those things and really only listens to his parents, wife, and agent who have always stayed constant. Think he might be more likely to stay and isn't as desperate to win a ring if he's not the guy. Bad thing is he'll most likely never going change which includes the mistakes he makes.

Do you hoop with friends? I'm positive you have at least one good friend who you despise playing with. A guy I regularly ball with absolutely sucks rhino dick, he's basically Westbrook if Westbrook was a 5'7" chubster with zero quickness and Biyombo's handles. Doesn't mean anything off the court, just hate playing ball with him.

My guess is it's like me and my co-workers; we find a way to make it work by day and find things to like about each other to make our collaboration smoother - but we don't hang out after work. Well, it was probably worse than that based on reports I read. Westbrook is just a very, very stubborn guy; I get the impression Durant always thought they should have the free-flowing ball movement that a team like the Warriors had, but with Westbrook that wasn't going to be possible.

But perhaps playing with someone who refuses to accept your leadership of the team puts Durant in good stead in joining the Warriors because despite his ability, he won't be top dog there either.

I think Durant could have had at least one Dirk-style Title run in him had he stuck with OKC and OKC got rid of Westbrook.

Durant was never going to be able to fulfill his potential playing next to the unpredictable cocaine gorilla Westbrook and I think Durant always knew this from the beginning.

Now we will never know. Everything Durant accomplishes will be asterisked because he was playing next to Klay and Curry.

Warriors can do a lineup of

Curry
Thompson
Green
Durant
Iggy

it is too unfair. All of the stats of these players are asterisked from now on.

To tell you the truth brah. Big 2 > Big 4. Shaq and Kobe's lakers > 2004 Lakers, Kobe and Gasol's Lakers > 2013 Lakers.

I don't think Klay Thompson is going to sacrifice his stats for the sake of team success. He already won an NBA title.

He's going to demand to be traded before the NBA trading deadline.

I agree, the Shaq-Kobe Lakers was the greatest basketball team I've ever seen with my own eyes, and I watched MJ's Bulls.

Wish we could have seen prime bulls vs prime Shaq-Kobe lake show. I would have loved to see young Kobe lock down Jordan while Shaq goes off for a patented 40/20 series vs the Gugliotta-Kukoc-Pippen front court
