Idk how the Japanese stock market works, but if Americans are allowed to buy stocks no problem, I regret not thinking about it 5 days ago when this game came out and I KNEW it was gonna blow up....their stock went up 26%. In 5 ****ing days.


I have 6k sitting in my bank that I could of threw down on that stock, would of made an easy 1.5k (and counting...only getting started). Ah well, at least this is an experience, jump on something when you know it's hot, not like the stock will plummet if the app is popular.

If you have emotional attachment to pokemon the fun is in collecting and raising the level of pokes and capturing gyms.

Also it's fun to explore around the real world on hikes looking for mons, at least for some people.

Plus because you have to physically walk and search around for the pokes in the real world it provides you even more emotional attachment to the mons and the game itself-it effects your mind+body, other games are just all about mind. It is a simple concept but it truly is next level.

Plus adventuring around in nature or a part of the city you never go to is fun in real life+more fun if you are finding cool pokemon along the way.


If they get the battle system right this will be the greatest game ever made.

It gets kids out exploring their cities(other cities too?), going places they wouldn't go to otherwise, physically socializing with other people(important), getting exercise... all for free.

yea some of these dudes look silly staring at their phones mindlessly walking around, but the fact that they are out and walking around is a step up. otherwise these kids would be at home isolated in their rooms playing some other fukin game.

i didn't say they didn't exist. I said their not as common as they were back in the day. you go through an urban city and tons of empty courts, drastically different from 20-30 years ago. even Jeff van gundy mentioned it at some point during this years nba playoffs.

it's just one of many contributing reasons why today more and more players these days come from highly affluent backgrounds where their dad was a professional player(like Curry or Thompson), as opposed to back in the day all of the nikkahs that would make the league from poverty. kids today learn the game from being in expensive gyms or from being signed up on an aau team, not on the playgrounds.

As for the trading it can be over-powered but if they don't let then it's okay. Maybe only trade within a certain distance, maybe cap the CP so you can only trade a pokemon for another that is like 100 CP higher/lower. I think it would be a welcomed addition just as long as they prevent people from posting their pokemon and taking bids on em while the winner paypals them $50

i didn't say they didn't exist. I said their not as common as they were back in the day. you go through an urban city and tons of empty courts, drastically different from 20-30 years ago. even Jeff van gundy mentioned it at some point during this years nba playoffs.

it's just one of many contributing reasons why today more and more players these days come from highly affluent backgrounds where their dad was a professional player(like Curry or Thompson), as opposed to back in the day all of the nikkahs that would make the league from poverty. kids today learn the game from being in expensive gyms or from being signed up on an aau team, not on the playgrounds.


No you're totally wrong. Maybe it's like that in your city, but over here some courts get so packed that you have to wait a good 30-45 minutes before your team gets a chance to play the winning team, because there are already 2-3 teams waiting themselves. Also depends on what the time of day is. Usually, courts are full from 6pm-9pm, but if you go at 2pm (hot af) there won't be anyone on the court.


Speaking of the pokemon game, this is one of the best games ever made. Not because of the game itself, but the fact that you gotta get up and walk around to play. Sure you can drive in the car to catch pokemon, but you gotta literally walk around for 5km for your egg to hatch. Awesome way to get people to exercise.

Finally started playing yesterday, first day was rough. Caught only 5 pokemon and no eggs, every pokestop lagged and didn't let me spin it...but then tonight on my way to close shop and back, I caught 10 pokemon (including parasect and ekans) and got 7 ****ING EGGS!! :eek:

Not a single 10km, but 5 5km's and 2 2km's. Pretty good for about 30 mins of driving there and back and walking around the store a bit, I'll admit lol. I even went into some hoods and drove 10mph so that it could count as walking distance for the egg :oldlol:

I'm not sure it depends on your level and the Eevee's level. All my Eevee's CP went up a lot after I evolved them.

Use the razzberries. I think the ?? Level might have something to do with the pokemons CB lvl compared to yours/your highest. I caught a lvl 350 or so venemoth that showed up as ?? When I was like lvl 6 but I was able to see the CB lvl of a 460 fearow once I was up to a lvl 9

A lot of the rare Pokemon can be hatched from eggs. The only rare(r) type of Pokemon I've caught are the evolved forms of some common types (spearow, hypno, beedrill, venemoth). I've noticed a lot of the gym leaders around my area have a Lapras-which must be common in the 10km eggs.

I'm level 12 now, and I already worked on getting a Pidgeot at like level 6-8 and powered it up to something like 375. Recently I caught a 165 Pidgey and just evolved it twice because I had so much candy and ended up with a 550 or so Pidgeot. My recommendation would be to wait and only use it on the Pokemon you may not find a lot of. I've only been using mine on a Flareon which I evolved from a 270 eevee. Not sure how high of a level eevee I'll find

A lot of the rare Pokemon can be hatched from eggs. The only rare(r) type of Pokemon I've caught are the evolved forms of some common types (spearow, hypno, beedrill, venemoth). I've noticed a lot of the gym leaders around my area have a Lapras-which must be common in the 10km eggs.

The curve above the pokemon is the max CP. The when u get a level the point its at will go back further therefore makimg the end of the curve a higher max. Pokemon evolving keeps their point on the curve so the evolved form has the same % of the max as its weaker form. When u get to higher levels the requirements become exponentially higher exp to level so id save your stardust till then because youll have a similar max cp for longer periods of time.

Have you just been catching so far to this point? I'm pretty much at the same point as you from the looks of things and haven't really touched any gyms. Just chilling in lure modules and catching everything possible.

This. Catching it is good for that initial 600xp, but after that it is no better than Eevee candy because it isn't worth the massive amounts of Stardust to power it up to a useable level.

Its really fun to play in highly populated areas where lots of other people are playing. I met a lot of interesting people over the past week, people who I probably would have never spoken to if we werent at the same park playing the same phone game.

I have had a ton of exercise the past week. I go to the gym a few times a week but walking an extra 5-10km every day feels really good.

The concept for the game is just awesome, and it only barely scratches the surface of what will be possible with future GPS + AR software (like the next generation of google glass).

Some problems and hiccups should be expected with a game like this, but a few of these bugs are really bad. The nearby tab is completely broken. Razzberries will randomly make your pokeball curve, especially at higher levels.

The scaling for levelling seems off, and it feels like the game basically grinds to a complete halt at higher levels. While level 15-16 takes 20k xp, and 19-20 takes 25k... level 20-21 takes 75k xp and 24-25 takes 200k.

The main way to get xp at high levels is using a lucky egg and then mass evolving pidgeys, weedles and caterpies. It gets tedious as hell when you have 30 freshly evolved pigeottos to transfer and have to get rid of them one by one. This game desperately needs some kind of mass transfer option.

For whatever reason, it starts getting really hard to capture anything at high levels. Once you get near level 20, a pidgey with 100cp will break out of multiple regular pokeballs and than run away, that shit never happens whenyou are level 10. The other night I wasted at least 30 great balls on two pokemon i didnt catch. First a snorlax broke out of 10 great balls (and at least 5 complete misses thanks to the razz berry curve ball bug), then my game froze. Later I had a charmander do the exact same thing, breaking out of countless balls and then disappearing after my phone eventually freezes. Ultimately this means at high levels you need to farm pokestops like crazy, since thats the only way to get the great and ultra balls that actually might be able to catch something.

Gyms are basically pointless. If you know what you are doing its very easy to defeat any gym, unless that gym happens to be bugged. The real problem is theres no reason to mess with gyms at higher levels. The XP gained from defeating a gym is too little to matter and the reward for controlling gyms is just stupid. With 10 gyms under your control you get a grand total of $1 worth of in game currency? I would rather farm pidgeys.

For example if an ice cream parlor or a restaurant or a kids clothing store want to buy advertising then Pokemon GO can locate these Pokemons at various stores that paid for advertising.

I gotta question for anyone who might have an answer. I've gone to a few gyms, some of which have 3-5 Pokemon. Once before it let me use the same number of Pokemon as the amounts faced, and others made me use the same one against 4-5 different Pokemon. Why?
