He used to have alot of fans but it seems no one likes him anymore. Yes i know what the obvious reason would be. But would anyone have the courage to stick up for their hero??

I imagine that a large portion of Durant fans are still fans, but no longer superfans. No longer would they find the need to stick up for him online and no longer would they care to whole-heartedly cheer him. I think their love for durant probably got a bit murkier. But that's sports.

Some will forget. Others might go all out and dislike the guy from now on. One thing is for sure, the league is never going to be the same. It's kind of unprecedented. It's akin to Larry Bird joining the showtime Lakers. I wonder how the majority of people will react and if ratings are going to tank.

I would hate him if he stoops down to the level of bran. But after that rigjob, then he has no choice but to join the best team. And i just want to see nba bankrupt, and his decision increases the chance.

In time people will get used to it... If the ring, ESPN will speak of his greatness and viewers will believe it, considering most are casuals.

But on the forums and debates, he'll always be known as a little btch who couldn't get it done with a stacked team.

I have no problem with what he did because...we've already seen superstars stack the deck.

Not like he demanded a trade anyway. Guy was a free agent.

People may dislike him now. But it will be cool to like him when the majority dislikes him. Like LeBron in Miami. People spent the first year booing him. But eventually booing becomes uncool and people start to cheer him because of all the boos. Either way, it doesn't really matter for KD. Because at this point, any publicity is good publicity. Shoe sales were down, jersey sales were down, and he has he charisma of a rock. This move will only help move merchandise. Still no rings, but jersey sales will be crazy.

There will be more casual fans than ever.

Hardcore fans won't be watching as much anymore.

Which is still a net positive for the league. Which is the problem (and the same problem exists for music, movies, and tv).

Somewhat correct in my opinion.

But Lebron earned the respect of fans when he lead a Bosh-less Heat to a championship.

So...if Curry and Klay Thompson get injured, and Durant still leads Golden State to a Finals, he might get the same respect. (Actually, I still would rather have D. West-D. Green-Igoudala-Livingston as my supporting cast than Joel Anthony-U. Haslem-Wade-Chalmers though).

Nope.

I did when it initially happened, but I stopped "caring" sometime before the playoffs that year. Was probably around the time Wade and LeBron struggled to co-exist. :oldlol:

I like him. He told a bunch of salty bitches to suck his dick and that he was going to do with he wanted for himself, even knowing it was wildly unpopular. I can respect a dude who doesn't give two shits what people think and looks to his own happiness.

I'm a Warriors fan so I'm happy he joined and obviously hope he does well and helps the Warriors win multiple titles.

From a competitive standpoint, no doubt, I think going to a 73-win team that just beat you in 7 in the Conference Finals (after being down 3-1) is pretty lame.

You kept hating on lebron up till they won this year's championship. I vividly remember numerous arguments with you where you called lebron overrated and/or a choker.

You seem to have changed your mind and credit to you, you're allowed to do that. But you weren't fine with lebron man:facepalm

I've always said my two teams are OKC and Golden State.

Durant's my all-time favorite athlete, the decision changes nothing except I now know he's gonna win multiple Finals MVP's. After this past year I doubted he would ever win a ship in OKC with a retard at PG and no spacing whatsoever. OKC was the WORST fit for Durant. Warriors = BEST fit.

He's a high IQ unselfish scoring machine who can pass, rebound, dribble, and play-make just like Steph, Dray, and Klay.

He's the top dog now on a team that's tailor made for his style. I'm happier than ever as a fan.

Well said! :applause:
KD will show how important he is when Steph inevitably goes ghost mode in the Finals again

I still like him and his game, but the move to GS was shit. It was a better choice than BOS/MIA/LAL/NYK, I'm glad he didn't got there, but I think he had the best and most likeable team behind him..

I know quite a few people who still rep Durant. One of my coworkers is trying to get a Durant Warriors jersey right now.

Always liked Durant & his game, never talked bad about him, always thought he deserved a ring... but this way, this move right here i cant defend... he surprised me here to say the least... it made me lose a bit respect... i wanted him to earn one, not to be handed one on a silverplate....

Look i have no problem with the best player/best players going out seeking greener pastuers, a player has to & can still EARN it if he wins by way of going to an unproven team/non-favorites/non-championship team and being the alpha who carries them & forms them to championship(s)..... there is a thin line between that and going to a championship team (that is ringchasing) and joins the enemy/competition (if you cant beat them/him, then join!).... that is very weak, pathetic, desperate... something only a veteran would do when he was at the end of his career seeking to be given (not earn) a ring..... and thats what Durant just did, in his prime...

The context here is bad, i dont even recall ever seeing a player who is arguably the best in the game going to a player & team who would destroy him all the time, a team who is also a historic team who just won the most games in history, a championship & were 1-3 points away from winning another one recently, who are favorites to win a championship every single year... I mean Warriors yet again i think could win a championship next year, without Durant...

This is literally joining the enemy/competition and ringchasing at its very finest.... he will not EARN, it will be GIVEN...

let me put in in terms you can understand pauk ..

when a young lion in his prime leaves his pride to join another lion's pride, he is no longer the alpha lion .. it doesnt matter if one pride killed 73 wildebeasts last year and the other only killed 60 .. he's still the beta Lion in the group. both betas .. but while bran pulled his stunt in a less harsh environment .. a paradise if you will.. Durant is still in the jungle.

Alot of people:confusedshrug: . Durant joined them in a classy fashion, didnt hold a TV special. Didn't hold a championship parade before they even played a game announcing they'd win 8 championships. And really this isn't even the best team he's been on. Don't get why people are making such a big deal out of this.
