Looking great so far, 8-0. Timeout by Pelicans.

Larry bringing the ball up the court like Lamar Odom used to, looks very comfortable on the ball.
Ingram 1/1, 1 block
Brown playing good D, offensive rebound/putback
Zubac scored

Crowd is really into it, pretty hyped for a summer league game :lol

Bosnian Sajo
07-08-2016, 11:20 PM
Definitely like what I see from him on the low block...interesting. He doesn't HAVE to be the main ballhander, Nance is looking competent as is Ingram. Don't forget about Clarkson, who I prefer as the PG.

Maybe that's our problem, Russell and Clarkson should switch positions. Have Russell as a spot up/back down shooter/cutter.

This defense is contagious to the team right now, I feel like Julius Randle would break it if he were to play. Deng and Mozgov would compliment it well, but Randle and Calderon no.

His defense, rebounding, and passing. He can actually dunk now! :oldlol:

Another huge plus from Ivica Zubac is 5-5 from the line. Steal of the draft.

Diallo not looking too bad. I like him.

Ingram is obviously greater than Simmons. His work ethic and demeanor. Lakers looking good.

Holy fukkk. Ingram looks like the real deal. Zubac looks like another unreal steal for the Lakers. He's only 18 and has a Marc Gasol vibe to him. D'Angelo killed it. But Ingram o man, that length and he just looks like hes ready for this.

I think we are too hard and expect too much from Dlo. For instance, his statline

20 pts 7-12
11 reb
6 ast
3 stl

And we say he's playing like crap :(

On the other hand Mudiay

23 pts 8-18
8 reb
6 ast
1 stl

And we say Mudiay is playing like a stud :oldlol:

We got pretty different opinions then. I think JC and Randle are far more expendable than Dlo at the moment. DLo has allstar tools we have seen flashes of, it's way too early to move him cheap now. JC and Randle have limitations that they will never overcome on way to being elite level players in the NBA.

Yeah. I've seen that you're a big D Russ guy. Just never chose to engage you on it.

Randle is a jumper away from being EASILY a 20pt/10reb/4ast guy on a NIGHTLY basis. With a jumper, he's the Hulk version of Odom.

And we just flat out disagree on Clarkson. I think extremely high of him. Plays well in the pick and roll when looking to score. Nice floater. GREAT speed and decision making.

Russell's ceiling is extremely high. But he's a little too soft for me.

None of these guys have proven anything more than the others, other than Russell being the number 2 pick. Production wise they've all shown flashes of being good NBA players but nothing more than that.

D'angelo has youth on his side and good size for his position, but his tools are severely limited when his actual production has shown he has a major flaw for his position, in that he can't break down the defense. He better hope that jumpshot gets consistent or I don't see how he's going to be a major star in the league.

Randle is raw clay right now, can tell he's gotten by his whole life just being bigger and faster than everyone else and he doesn't understand the nuances of the game. Compare Zubac's poise in his first summer league game vs Randle's last year and it's night and day.

However he averaged a double double off physical gifts alone last year. An improved jumper and getting out of Byron Scott's dysfunctional system can prove to be a huge since he's definitely got the talent to be a star.

A reliable jumper is one of the hardest things to develop. It's not the same as extending a shooters range from college 3 to NBA 3. Some players just lack a feel for shooting the ball.

Lebron is a jumper away from easily being the GOAT.

Lebron is a jumper away from easily being the GOAT.

A reliable jumper to keep the defense honest isn't the same as being Klay Thompson. Randle's got enough other tools to not need an elite jumper, just a serviceable one.

He shot 71% from the line so the mechanics are definitely not broken, if he works hard getting a David West/Karl Malone type jumper isnt unachievable.

Bosnian Sajo
07-09-2016, 11:22 AM
Randle's biggest flaw is when he attacks the basket...a jumpshot would be a nice addition to his game, but he has to calm the hell down. Last night when Nance brought the ball up the floor/on a fastbreak, if he saw his guys were lagging or that there were too many defenders in his way, he slowed it down and gave the ball back up top to Russell to start out our offense. Randle would of ran it down regardless and either score/get fouled or turn the ball over (much more often, this was the case).

Julius has to learn how to do that, and as long as he keeps running around like a chicken with no head, I'm sure Coach Luke Walton (thank god for this guy) has no problem benching him in favor of Nance.

Really interested to watch tonight's game vs Philly, Ingram vs Simmons and Zubac gets to show us that game 1 wasn't a fluke. I seriously think Zubac will be challenging Mozgov for that starting 5 position.
