Is knowing that Kobe won't hold them back by chucking up 30-40 shots a game in the regular season.
Not a Laker fan by any means but I'm looking forward to watching them actually improve.

Must be nice knowing no one will reach 5 rings in the next 15 years. What a legend
Already miss him.

No, as a Lakers fan, I agree.
Kobe was holding us back for sure last season, but in a way, it was his retirement gift to us. As a thank you for 20 successful years, he left us with Brandon Ingram, a direct successor to the throne. Had he not, we might have been left with no pick at all. He let himself take the heat and look bad so to leave the franchise with a star, and then showed us at the end of the season what he REALLY had left.
He fooled you all.

None of these guys will be nearly as good as Kobe was for the Lakers. Kobe was a fantastic player but his last season was disappointing and he did hold the Lakers back at that point.
Its very hard to be as great as Kobe was, see yourself unable to do the things you could easily do and then accept that you're past it. I'm sure coming to that realization was hard for a competitor of hi caliber.

Kobe helped us tank to the #2 pick. He sacrificed his stats in the name of doing the job for our long term future.
Thank you based mamba, your sacrifice won't be forgotten:bowdown:

Watching the practice footage it looks like he still makes bad uncontrolled decisions driving to the basket. Dude doesn't look like he's improved at all. That is bothersome. He needs to be on a short leash.
