So much more diversity

You had the flip phone

The Nokia brick

The slider

The Blackberry side flipper

Nowdays it's just giant rectangular thin slabs of LAME

I miss the days when you had to flip that shit open before you used it

phone companies used to be more creative but really the standard flatscreen is probably the best.
there are still a couple of recent Android phones that were a bit different like the LG Flex and the Blackberry Priv

I had a phone that twisted around like a swivel that I thought was cool back in high school.

I guess it was kind of lame but I did appreciate some aspect of how designs were varied ten years ago

What about functionality though? With a smartphone you can do so much but with a flip phone or a brick you can't do even a 1/4 you can do with a smartphone.

Nothing of what you said is wrong but you've clearly missed the point of the thread
