View Full Version : Why lebron and KAJ are the true GOATS

-Lebron and kaj won championships for small market teams that drafted them
-Jordan had the luxury of being drafted to a big market team that could easily build a super team.
Jordan even had a chance to accomplish this feat in 95 but instead decided to return to the stacked bulls big market and GOAT coach Phil Jackson most importantly Pippen..
Take away pippen and jordan is 1-48 in the playoffs.

The stats prove that Jordan assisted on the most teammate field goals during his 6-peat:
Assist Percentage 1991-1993 Playoffs:
Jordan: 31.1%
Pippen: 23.3%

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/pippesc01.html#1991-1993-sum:playoffs_advanced
Assist Percentage 1996-1998 Playoffs:
Jordan: 22.3%
Pippen: 22.0%

In addition to Jordan's team-leading passing, his scoring load was GOAT - no all-time great led their team in scoring for every playoff series of their career, let alone by a margin of 15.4 ppg (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=406920) like Jordan - let that sink in.

That doesn't change the fact that its a big market and they can build a good team, meanwhile lebron and kaj got traded to teams and excelled even more with their new teams..
Lebron won 66 games with mo williams as his second option kaj won a title his KAJ won a title his 3rd year in the league..
Jordan went 1-9 before pippen

That STILL doesnt awnser a simple question
Why didn't jordan go to charolotte when he had the chance and instead rejoined the goat coach?

Lebron won 66 games with mo williams as his second option
Mo Williams was an all-star that year, which means he was a top 3 player at his position in the conference.
Jordan NEVER had a top 3 player at his position until he got Pippen - overall, Jordan played with ONE all-star during his career (6 appearances), compared to EIGHT for Kareem (25 appearances) and FIVE for Lebron (11 appearances)

Lebron won 66 games with mo williams as his second option
Lebron's supporting cast added enough production on top of his 28/8/7 to win 66 games in 2009.. Contrastingly, Jordan's supporting cast only enough on top of his 33/8/8 to win 47 games in 1989..
The only possible reasons for Lebron's 19 extra wins despite his inferior production is that his supporting cast was better and his competition was inferior.. (brand of basketball wasn't a factor - we know Jordan's brand of basketball was better because his brand was more successful in the playoffs.. Jordan's 6th seeded Bulls beat higher seeds in every round and took the champs to 6 games in ECF, while Lebron's heavily-favored 1 seed saw their brand of basketball exposed by Dwight Howard's Magic)
Ultimately, Jordan's impact in 1989 was GOAT - the 47-win Bulls would've missed the 45-win playoff cut without Jordan's 33/8/8.. So without Jordan, that roster was a lottery roster and headed nowhere going into the 1990 season - but WITH Jordan, they were ECF veterans and about to begin a 6-peat dynasty.. Essentially, Jordan led that same lottery roster from 1989, to a 3-peat beginning in 1991 - that's the goat impact on a lottery team.

LeBron lost his opportunity of being the GOAT after his collusion
Pippen was only 4th in PER the year after Michael Jordan retired from the bulls
LeBron left his home team to join the 2nd and 4th leaders in PER (D.Wade and Chris Bosh)
What LeBron did was like if MJ left his hometown team to join Scottie Pippen AND Shaquile Oneal! (The 4th and 2nd leaders in PER of the 1994 season)

its no secret that Jordan is the most vastly overatted player of all time. IMO KAJ is the GOAT, this man is the personification of basketball. Very tall yet footwork as smooth as butter.
Lebron is close behind but he gets there in brute force fashion.
Jordan, well cmon, 1-8. Superteam, weak expansive era. Played with a top 20 all time player in Pippen and a top 10 all time PF in whats his face. I could go on....

Lebron had to collude twice with 4 superstars to get 3 rings.

-If he had a superteam, why didn't they get past the 2nd round without him?
- Pippen is not a top 20 player, nor is Rodman a top 10 PF

in 7 games
Winning in 7 games doesn't make Lebron more dominant - it makes him less dominant.
He needed 7 games because he only averaged 24 ppg and 6 turnovers through 4 games.. Then he averaged 36 ppg in the final 3 games to comeback and win - but if he averaged 36 ppg for the ENTIRE series like Jordan did in 1991-1993 Finals (36/7/8), then he wouldn't need a 7th game, like Jordan..
Btw, during those Finals, Jordan scored 11-16 ppg more than Pippen, compared to Lebron's 2 ppg more than Kyrie
Lebron beat the GOAT 73-9 team
The teams with the best regular season records routinely lose in the playoffs, so regular season records aren't a good gauge of all-time greatness.
The Warriors went 15-9 in playoffs after going 73-9 - many teams in prior eras would've beaten them.
