okc choked pretty hard too. but gsw takes the cake

Both were meltdowns of the highest order. OKC going up 3-1 with the way they were playing... it seemed IMPOSSIBLE that they would drop three straight in the midst of their best stretch of play all year. But they did and it didn't catch me by surprise to be honest.

The Cavs coming back down 3-1 against GSW was in the realm of possibility but even as a LeBron fan I didn't think it would happen. OKC's 3-1 choke is more excusable (though still disgusting) because there was a realistically pretty big gap between the two WCF teams. Finals teams were more evenly matched because of how LeBron is by far the best player on the planet and has been for nearly a decade now.

That'd be 2011 bran :lol

2016 cavs were the most expensive team in the league. CLEAR FAVORITES

from an individual standpoint, 11' bran was a mega choke job. as a team tho it has to be gsw this year.

2016 GSW
2011 Miami Heat

Biggest chokes of all time. Funny how LeBron* is involved in both of them.

IMO Okc's was worse. They were playing great basketball, went up 3-1, the finals was just an inch away. Not only did they lose 3 in a row, but because of that they also lost their star Kevin Durant and will never be in the same position again. No way would KD leave okc for gsw if they had made it to the finals, they might have even won the championship.

Gsw, although it was embarrassing, only lost the series. Okc lost everything.

I cringe just looking at the play by play of game 6....they had it, smfh.

Such a fundamentally sound move.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder OP.

16 Warriors did not choke

Adam Silver suspended Draymond Green under dubious circumstances

Subsequently Andrew Bogut's knee got taken out by JR Smith

Andre Iguodala then suffered from back spasms (ended up -25)

Stephen Curry was still recuperating from his serious MCL injury

All 3 of Golden State's best defenders were out of commission along with the team's best player not at 100%

If there was no suspension by Adam Silver and Curry was healthy and they lost those 3 games, it would of been the biggest choke ever

However, those were not the surrounding circumstances

Not sure you can quite call it a choke.

Up 3-1 with their starting lineup.

Lost 3 straight without their starting lineup.

2015 Finals GSW were down 2-1 with their starting line-up

Then won 3 straight w/o their starting lineup.

Didn't they have the unanimous MVP, best SG in the league, DPOY runner-up, COY, and HCA in two of the last 3 games?

It's not a choke job when the NBA wants a game 7 no matter what. Anything then can happen in a single game, especially with a forced momentum change.

Absolutely right. Steph Curry might also be the biggest MVP winner to choke in the finals.

Yes, arguably, yes, yes, not sure what HCA stands for, but sure.

Nonetheless, it's a team game. Not arguing whether they blew it. Just can't call it a choke when your lineup/rotation is involuntarily altered mid-series.

Apples to oranges. Voluntary to involuntary. Also, healthy Iggy to banged up Iggy.

The Draymond Green suspension is the only reason the series went past 5 games.
