Anyone else having problems with the new bottom bar ads blocking your screen

I don't have a problem with ads, I know that's what powers message boards but these new ads are blocking my screen when I log in or reply in a thread and they are difficult to get rid of. Most of the time the ads don't count down from 5, they just stay at 5.

This is on a mobile device. Desktop users probably don't have this problem. Is it only me that finds this cap incredibly intrusive and annoying?
