Even if he tried, he didn't have what it takes to be box office

Nobody would buy a ticket just to see Duncan a last time. He is a great player, better than Kobe all-time, but he was never going to be a box office type of player.

What the f*ck does across 50 states have to do with anything? NBA doesn't even have 50 teams. :oldlol:

Lakers fans, the only people dumb enough to think all 50 states have teams.
Do you think that Alaskan team is going to win it all this year?:facepalm

Really?

He was an ATG level player from the start.

He could have mouthed off, made statements to the press, talked shit to his opponents.

His personality kept him low key.

I'd choose to be a top 6-7 player in the history of basketball and not have a shit show fan base behind me all day.

Too many attention seeking fvckers around here.

His style of play was never the box office kind. He wasn't flashy enough.

So Timmy wasn't an attention whore but instead valued his privacy and loyalty?

Okay I don't see how that is bad

Only attention whores want to be box office anyway.

Let's be real... Duncan went out with so much more class and took the better route... The farewell tour was the cringiest thing in years.

Kobe was embarrassing to watch.

Left his franchise in ruins.

And generally appeals to pretty low iq fans.

What a bloke.

Which is why half the players with Kobe shirts at the park can't shoot for sh1t but insists they are super stars LOL. Go play putt putt if you wanna go 1on1 son, 8 players aren't standing around watching you throw the ball out of bounds whenever you catch it pigsh1t.

And also noone expect Duncan to have a great game in his last season who became a role player.. Nobody want to watch a boring role player in his last season.. On the other hand Kobe scored 60 points in his last game better than Duncan career high.. :lol Kobe last game was 100x more entertaining the Duncan whole career.. :lol

Agreed. Much like watching the and1 mixtape tour is better than watching the Sixers last season for example. For a variety of reasons, but not because one is better than the other.

Kobes last game was tragic.

Seriously, what kind of egotistical, delusional, loser jacks up that many shots?

Just so bad

Kobe had a huge ego than Duncan even when he was a role player for the Lakers.

You mean if you are more entertaining player then you're not a better player.. Base on your example, Matthew Dellavedova is better than Stephen Curry because Curry is more entertaining to watch than Dellavedova.. Nice logic there coming from a LeBron stan to justify his boring game.. :facepalm

Duncan doesn't care about popularity

Spurs have called a press conference Tuesday to address Tim Duncan's retirement. Tim Duncan will not be present. This is somehow perfect.

if he was never box office, how did he start in so many All Star games (the ones voted for by fans, you know?)

Yeah, Kobe was box office in his farewell season.

People paid to see his team get buttfked to oblivion.
