If you got a gun, at some point it is going to come into play, Murphy's Law.
The gun is gonna make you less likely to compromise, less likely to back down, and less likely to seek a solution. Why would you, you have the ultimate solution right in your waistband.
Because guns are so prevalent cops are scared shitless, routine traffic stops are a minefield, paranoia is reigning supreme.
Scared cops, lots of guns, uneasy public, high crime neighborhoods, it is all intertwined.
Take away the guns and you will have a lot less black kids dying.
Yes I know some were unarmed, but the cops have the fear ingrained in them.
Better police training might work, but you can only train away the fear so much, as long as guns are everywhere, they are a problem.
There is no quick fix for guns, it will take a generation to tidy up the mess.
But until it starts, the situation cannot ameliorate.
Sadly blacks have a bad rep with police, some of this is earned some isn't, but it cannot change until the guns are cleaned up.
Most blacks aren't criminals, most cops aren't horrible c*nts. But some are.

What happens when the cops guns are taken by law, but the criminals are obtained illegally?

Cops will always have guns.
You will never get to a zero guns scenario because that is like getting to a zero drugs scenario. There will always be a black market, but restrictions need to start.

plenty of guns in Canada, people just aren't living in fear, the police have a higher education level (minimum BA plus 1 year police academy), and we take care of our citizenry hence no disgusting ghettos.
much of the US is a toilet, which is a shame because the US used to be number 1 and still has many of the best things in the world but they are being dragged down by their apathy towards their own people.
poorly run, and there is no hope of that changing for at least the next four year.

If you can't understand the failing mental health system, then you won't understand the reason people reach for guns to solve their problems.

So I have to give up my gun because some demographic can't control themselves? Hmmmmmm.
Naw that's kinda why I need it in the first place.
Cops suck right? Why would I want to put 100% of my fate in THEIR hands. :confusedshrug:
Make your own fate, that's what I always say.

It's any number of reasons. The reason needs to be dealt with BEFORE someone reaches for a gun. You take the gun away, the person will use a knife, so do we ban all knives?
Today's society wants to blame the weapon and not the person using it.
We live in a baby world. Full of babies who don't want to take responsibility for their own actions.

The US is more chaotic and violent than other western countries because it is a vast Empire masquerading as a country (not to mention the nasty legacy left by slavery in this country). That is its nature; good luck legislating against it.
