Depends on how you define "athlete" and "athleticism".

In basketball, people tend to equate athleticism with leaping ability and speed. In this case, you'd have to have Rex Chapman high up there, he could jump out the gym. Other tools of athleticism such as hand-eye coordination seem to get ignored, especially when people go into the old "Larry Bird wasn't much of an athlete but could play basketball". He was extremely coordinated though.

If you're going by multi-sport success, then Danny Ainge ranks among the top in NBA history in any racial background in terms of "athleticism".

Marko Milic, I think he played for PHX for some time. He was the first guy dunking over a car and his dunk was whole lot more impressive than Blake's:

In terms of general athleticism, white guys usually excel in strength which isn't all that important in the modern NBA.

Tom Chambers but I'm surprised there's been only one mention of Ginobilli. They called him "the Euro Kobe" before he came over to the NBA.

This whole thread is an insult to Tom Chambers and that one guy that jumped over a car that was drafted by the 76ers in the mid 90s.

Strength is overrated in a lot of sports especially in mma. I've seen a lot of muscular dudes get submitted by some slim, stream bean skinny mother ****er.

what was wild about Bird is that he played like a 6'7" player in a 6'10" body.

Most players play big , not for Bird , he even looked small on the court , but he played next to Chief and Mchale.

Then a year later he had this impressive attempt on a 12 foot rim.
