Would you rather watch dozens of new movies one summer or watch 2-3 TV shows?

Tv shows for me. When I finish them. It's really emotional because I almost feel like I watched the characters grow up and I was with them the whole time. It sucks to say goodbye knowing there will never be more of it.

Well lately if you want to watch anything decent it's a tv series.. There's like 3-4 movies a year actually worth seeing nowadays..
Wtf happened to Hollywood?

And those 3 or so are usually remakes :facepalm

Most tv on HBO is better than most films.

In general, television is improving vastly to the point that actors aren't hesitating to be featured in television over film.

TV shows because it's basically longer movies. Therefore it gives room for a lot more story and characters development.

i.e The movie 'Eye In The Sky' has very good reviews but it's basically a normal episode of the TV show 'Homeland'.

In all seriousness, in terms of quality it's "good" TV and it's not close.

It goes: great serialized TV > great movie > bad movies > bad TV. That ranking cannot be argued with. Shows like Breaking Bad, The Wire, Sopranos etc all take a massive dump on the best movies ever made because you really can tell such a deeper story with the extra time.

That being said, if you don't have the time for a full series then that's understandable. Time is the sole drawback to it.

I would have to say Movies 90% of time, less time commitment.
I look forward to seeing Batman v Superman even though I know it will be bad I wouldn't watch the first 3 episodes of a sub par TV show.

When TV shows are done right like Breaking bad or the first season of Prison Break then I enjoy the ride more than a good film.

Movies are more hit or miss. It's a risk. I don't want to waste 2 hours on a bad movie.

So, when i'm going through netflix I usually land on a tv series, as I know for sure that that hour or two will be pretty good.

The only time I watch movies these days is if there's a classic on netflix that I never saw, or if there's some new movie that basically got 100% approval by fans and critics.

S1 Prison Break is one of the greatest seasons in TV history. Heck Season 2 wasn't even that bad and still better than 90% of TV shows out there but most viewers were disappointed from Season 2 - Season 4 (although hard to follow, I thought Season 3 was one of the more interesting seasons)

90% of movies I watch are too short or not done well enough to get me to feel any type of emotional connections to the characters and/or the plot.

I'd much rather watch a good TV show than a good movie. Watching characters grow and change over time in a TV show while never knowing what's coming next will entertain me more than a movie with a set plot with a set beginning, middle and end.

Nail on the head. That built in predictability and lack of investment is what makes this a landslide.

These days, tv > movies. TV production is at all time high and most movies are sequels and remakes, which I watch, but I enjoy a good tv series more.

ironically both , but not what one would expect.

I like looking at , watching old westerns ...
And movies.

The boob tube doesn't have anything good on it , except , ninja warrior and
some sports , and sometimes shark tank...

Even PBS is getting lame

I like them both but like everyone's already said, great movies are lacking nowadays.

I watch plenty of shows and enjoy most of them, some of them I continue to watch because I have watched a few seasons and invested so much time in them already. These shows, I wish for them to get cancelled or end already.

I just finished watching Marco Polo this season, and it was a joy to watch. It sucks that I'll have to wait more than a year now for next season :oldlol:
