The Disney Media Networks will broadcast a town hall meeting with President Obama Thursday at 8 p.m. ET from Washington.

"The President & The People: Race in America," will be shown commercial-free on ESPN and ABC, and streamed online at Watch ESPN and Watch ABC.

ABC's "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir will moderate the conversation about race relations, justice, policing and equality. ESPN's Jemele Hill, co-host of His and Hers, will join Muir and the president, along with officers, parents, students and families affected by recent violence in Baton Rouge, Minneapolis and Dallas.

The town hall will also be shown on Freeform, ABC News Digital, Yahoo, ABC News' Facebook page and YouTube channel, and ABC Radio.

After the town hall, "Nightline" will air a special edition as well.

The most prolific racist President in American history holding a conference on race relations, should be interesting.

How is the President engaging in an open discussion about race relations with communities afflicted by issues concerning them fueling hate? Could you please elaborate?

I'll watch it, not sure why everyone's so negative about this, he'd be a much shittier pres if he didn't address the nation.

Thank God he's black... Would be impossible for a white pres to tell blacks to chill

He's the ideal pres for this, he could say some memorable stuff

Because he keeps bringing exposure to a non-issue and making it one.

Instead of condemning those who shot those innocent policeman, he took an opportunity to talk about BLm and other imflamatory shit during a state funeral.

Fck Obama, that piece of shit

Lol why are you trying to reason with these mouth breathers. They're just angry little men that need to let off steam on the internet. They're the same people that believe the country has become more racist under President Obama simply because he's a black President.

lol you can't actually deny that the racial divide is right now at its biggest during any presidency since the Civil rights movement.

How much b.tching do you see from whites when they are being killed by cops 3.5 times more than black man?

This America is nothing like what your parents or mainly grandparents went through in their day.

You literally have nothing to complain about. You are afforded every right to succeed in America, but all you want to do is fall back on a tired old era that doesn't exist anymore.

Not enough people in the black community taking responsibility for their own life choices and their own destiny. It's time the fathers in the black community stop abandoning their children and provide rolemodels for their kids, so they don't turn into entitled whiners using a race card to make excuses for their life.

I don't know how even after the briefest perusal of Obama's history, a person could think he gives a shit about mending race relations; the man was a member of an America and whitey hating rock-and-roll ethnic church, and has spent large portions of his life sowing division as a "community organiser" in Chicago (done wonders I hear)--why would anyone expect him to change now?

Charles Barkley said the same thing yesterday...

And it's true. But why take responsibility when you can blame someone else so you don't have to accept the fact your a failure?

I have to politely disagree with you cause you're a respectable guy around here that I know doesn't agree with my politics.

But if it's been brewing for a long time, then for how long? Cause Obama has been in office for 8 years and if I recall, this "racial divide" started when he had the Beer Summit and the media was all over it. He took it upon himself to become some sort of a racial mediator and it all went downhill from there. From Trayvon to Ferguson to Radical Islam and now to these police shootings.

Then you have idiots like DeBlasio who goes out and throws his entire police department under the bus just because he married a Black lady and has Black children.

It's the politicians and the 24/7 media creating this racial divide.

Who doesn't play the blame game? People whine about something in this country every single day instead of looking in the mirror. I don't have a job, blame immigrants. Coal factories are shutting down, blame government and so on.

Parents brainwashing their kids.

I wasn't brought up to believe that another race was responsible for me not succeeding in life or walking out my front door in fear of the big bad world. Shit happens, life doesn't always deal you a good hand and in my case, I had the good with the bad. Lost two dads, bullied badly at school, had to eat food hampers during my early life, but I don't blame anyone or look for a victim card. I accept that the world isn't fair and I have no control over my surroundings.

I've had my life battles, as has anyone here on ISH. If you want to talk real life challenges? Look no further than the cancer patients in a hospital, the bomb victims of a terrorist attack, women who are victims of rape due to poor immigration policies etc etc etc.

What about the 90s? LA riots?

Anyway, the racial divide is fueled by more people having technology now more than ever. It's so easy to make a video of a cop killing a black man for no reason and upload it right away.

The killings and crime has gone down since the 90's. So people are getting upset over a dying trend.

The media sensationalizes these stories, and frankly, the majority of blacks are in poverty and with poverty comes poor education. This poor education translates into outrage and violence from what they see on TV, never knowing the real truth in the grand scheme of things.

How cute, a large media conglomerate (which is part of an industry which irresponsibly stokes the flames of racial hatred and division) wants to host a town hall without commercials so they can get ratings and kudos.

It'll be a whole lot of talk, no action and it will all be forgotten about in a couple weeks once this news cycle passes. I'll pass.

It's the politicians and the 24/7 media creating this racial divide.

It really is. Politicians say "the criminal justice system is flawed, it is racist and biased against people of color". No shit, well you are legislators, damn near 90% of you hold a law degree and some experience of litigating, go ahead and fix it then. Addressing problems in the justice system should be well within their area of expertise.

So why then, do they thrust this narrative down the throats of people who lack the capacity to change the system even if they wanted to? Because it distracts people from the dirt they are doing in D.C.

Amidst all the controversy of the police shootings last week a Democrat representative (Corrine Brown) was indicted on Friday with over 20 counts of fraud after an FBI investigation: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/opinion/os-corrine-brown-indicted-scott-maxwell-20160712-column.html

Chaka Fattah, another Democrat representative resigned a couple weeks back after a conviction on racketeering charges: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/veteran-pennsylvania-congressman-convicted-in-racketeering-case-chaka-fattah/

We expect our police departments to be full of upstanding, virtuous and honest people yet the political classes in this country are brim full of the most dishonest, greedy and opportunistic scumbags known to man and their misdeeds don't generate even 10% of the same outrage.

hmm, pretty weak town hall meeting so far.

"We all just have to like each other and get along better. Let's just create healthy communities."

It's still only 30 mins in, hopefully he steps up his game.

Ah look another celebrity/rich kunt telling the majority of the population on how to live and telling them they're the problem.

We're not the ones that engineered a race war. We're not the ones that planted drugs in black communities. We're not the one that were hyping up white on black crimes to hype up ratings and stir up the pot. We're not the ones that shipped off all good paying jobs which practically created ghettos.

You're the problem(Obama and his rich buddies) not us. They want the majority of the population to fight against each other so they don't go after the real trouble makers(the rich kunts). It's a class problem not a racial one.

Yeah sure you are, you are throwing fire on this by saying things like that.
