It's kind of ridiculous though. The Warriors drafted 3/4 of their core- Curry, Klay, and Draygod. Then they opted not to re-sign one their drafted players in Barnes because they were able to secure a major upgrade. Why should they be penalized for being great at their jobs? Other teams are even shook about Patrick McCaw. :oldlol:

They are allowed too. The league didnt stop them because they couldnt.
That doesnt mean we should all be happy about it.

Ethan Strauss gets physically nervous before big Warriors games according to his colleagues. I've heard Windhorst and Elhassan among others talk about seeing him almost on the verge of vomiting during tense playoff games. If you'll notice, that's the author of this article. How could a journalist who works for the supposedly unbiased ESPN get so tied into one team?
He's a hack. Lacob is a narcissist who has contributed very little if anything to the Warriors cause, but he takes all the praise. He's just a rich POS who has never touched a basketball in his life.
Also, no sh!t the league doesn't like Durant showing his v@gina to the world and joining the Warriors. Not only did he tilt the competitive balance, he completely crushed the Warriors biggest threat in the West in the process.
The NBA loses a lot of money if they have all 4-5 game lopsided series instead of 6-7 game memorable rounds. It's bad for business and it's bad for the other 28-29 teams that not only can't compete, but have had their "star" or "superstar" or even "quality role players" sign up for what they perceive to be a free lunch (ring, in this case).
David West, meanwhile, is so thirsty for a ring the league ought to just reward him one and allow him to retire. It's getting embarrassing.

gotta call bullshit on that .. Spurs still exist, and are currently a tier above any eastern team outside the Cavs.. making the whining here pretty ironic.
and David West is just a vet signing to a contender which happens every year.. richard jefferson just played a huge role on a Cav's title team as a ring chasing vet.. this happens every year with almost every contender.

Well it didn't matter in the playoffs what tier the Spurs were. They simply lost.

Why are people upset over this? I honestly don't get it.
They haven't won a game yet. It may be the best collection of talent we've ever seen, but that is also a record, or line up that is meant to be broken.
Simply scout better, stop being cheap and get a better team together. There are so many good players in Europe who could come over here and be good, yet it isn't an option NBA teams want to think of.

West's situation is a little different though.
the spurs lost a razor close battle with the thunder.. but they were better all year, and the true "threats" to the warriors.. couple balls didnt bounce their way and they lost .. but they are still major contenders, and just added Pau Gasol to their frontcourt. They are still better than the competition the Cavs will have to face out east .. even if westbrook goes to the celtics.. which is why the competitive balance stuff is stupid. The Spurs are coming off a 67 win season and have a ton of amazing talent still.
and David West's situation is absolutely no different. He sucked ass in the playoffs last year, while richard jefferson gave you guys the second best defense in the finals and a huge sparkplug athletically on the court.. so you guys have ring chasing vets playing amazing for you, but somehow you have the balls to criticize an old david west coming off an awful performance as some sort of stacked unfair piece being added? lol.. gtfo .. sorry for being rude.. but that shits crazy.

That's true but there's no way this didn't hurt OKC competing now. Durant's gone, and now Westbrook will probably be traded. It offset the level of competition in the West making it easier for the Warriors to get to the Finals and win it.

The David West situation is different to me. He is quoted in saying in Indiana that he wouldn't ring chance and change the way he was as a player to ring chase. But low and behold he took a massive pay cut to play for the Spurs and do it to play as a shell of his former self when he could probably still put up 15/8. Then after that didn't work out he goes to the Warriors right after Durant decides to sign.

Except those past colluding situations wasn't a top 3 player in his prime going to a 73-3 team that was 48 minutes 3 separate times away from a repeat championship. That just beat you that post season after you were up 3-1. :oldlol:

:lol :lol so if the warriors won 45 games and lost because Steph was too injured to play at all in the WCF it would be ok?
Still Congrats on Cleveland winning you've been a real cancer since they won with some of your posts.

And?
Sometimes it is easier, sometimes it is harder. How do you know the Blazers out of no where will not start competing and winning games at a 60 win level next season? How do you know the Spurs won't get better?
My point is, if they are the best team ever, who cares? A team better or as good as the best ever has to come along eventually. No team is unbeatable. You get any bit of data susceptible to errors a long enough time to run, and it will eventually result in a string of errors on the pure possibility of chance. Basketball is even more volatile than that. Pro athletes find a way to win against other pro athletes.
It makes it more fun too. Everyone wants to see if this team is as good as advertised, if they are going to have problems, and you watch to see if your team can get one over them.

the thunder were the biggest threat to the warriors. thunder began playing on a whole different level in their series against gsw, any unbiased basketball fan can see that, if they hadn't choked, they would have gone to the finals. thunder with durant were the biggest threat to gsw because they had them beat until they decided to choke.

i feel like the spurs could have given the warriors the same type of fight .. thats what im saying. So there's still a major threat to golden state lurking out west imo. which is why i dont agree with any notion that the competitive balance has been ruined. especially coming from cavs fans who have an even easier path.
