So its either Westbrook or Griffin. We don't have enough to get both.

Interesting to see which Danny pulls a trigger on should OKC and LA want to do business.

Typical Boston media trying to drum up drama over nothing.

This is not going to happen people.

Sound's like the Clippers are scared they might lose Blake in 2 years with his player option.

Westbrook in Boston isn't happening. I can't see him wanting to go there. He's such a Western conference guy.

Will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Actually, this comes from The Sporting News. The Westbrook stuff comes from Bleacher Report.

Nice try though.

Would rather see them try and trade for Butler and Hayward.

Don't like Griffin for this team much at all actually.

Smart, 17 Nets pick, filler for Butler.

Jaylen Brown, future first, young player, filler for Hayward.

That way the have IT and Butler on great contracts. Can max Hayward. And they keep Bradley/Crowder...which are two guys absolutely essential to beating the Warriors/Cavs.

This is about winning the title...that team is better suited to win than adding a guy like Blake imo.

IT/Avery/Butler/Hayward/Crowder/Horford...

That is the makings of a squad to beat the Warriors imo. I like Rozier as well.

Why?

I mean...the Cavs would be favored, but it wouldn't be a bad match up at all actually.

No squad is "beating" the Warriors on paper....so should teams stop trying?

That team has Butler, Bradley, and Crowder...3 ideal defenders you'd want against the Warriors.

I think Thompson would get like 10 offensive rebounds against that small lineup with Crowder @ PF.

You realize you'd have other players on the team...right? That Horford would not be the only big on the team.

They currently have Amir Johnson...who is actually quite a nice player imo.

Getting to throw Avery/Butler at Kyrie...and Crowder at Lebron. With all the rest of their guys...that is about as good as you are going to do unless you are the Warriors.

To put it bluntly, there's nothing the Celtics have that would be worth a player like Griffin.

If they can pull that off without giving up the rights to to the Nets pick...

Blake Griffin this year...
Harry Giles or Josh Jackson next year...

They own the Nets unprotected first next year (technically the rights to swap, but the Nets will be the worst team in the league so that goes without saying)

You don't trade a star player for one pick, or any assortment of picks. Griffin value is certified and established and he's entering his prime. That's just bad asset management and even worse when you consider the Clippers are a de facto top three team in the West now.

I read the article and the most worrisome part is Doc Rivers valuing Rudy Gay as a "star player" in the Western Conference. Holy shit.

I don't like Griffin on the Celtics, but they have more than enough.

Jaylen Brown and the 17 Nets pick alone would be a huge haul for Griffin. The upcoming draft is loaded.

Also, Crowder fits in perfectly with how they Clippers would want to play.

So, yes, the Celtics have more than enough.

The question is...does Griffin make the Celtics a lot better than Crowder alone does?

I really don't think so to be honest...and obviously it will take a lot more than Crowder to get this done.

Crowder honestly might be better for the Clippers...and if they could then flip the Nets pick for another player of note...they would definitely be a better team than just keeping Griffin imo.

Yes...agree that Rudy Gay is trash.

And it seems the Celtics are massively overrating their role players.

You must be joking. The Clippers are a contending team. They aren't trading Blake Griffin for a rookie and a draft pick.

:biggums: you don't have to like him. When you have a chance at landing top caliber talent you take that chance. Is cousins more likeable?

Cousins is slightly more likeable and also a more valuable player.

Danny will do the right thing regardless.
