I guess the strategy is to secure the evangelical vote rather than try to sway moderate democrats.

It's a strange choice of running mate considering Trump dgaf about abortion/gay marriage as issues and this guy emphasizes them. It's clearly just a marriage of political convenience... but whatever I guess. Just as long as we get dat wall up! :rockon:

Pretty much this. It was the safest pick available. Newt and Krispy Christie had way too much baggage even though their being named VP would've brought a lot more sizzle.

Well in a normal year, with a normal nominee you could have picked the senator from Florida or the governor of Ohio who might have helped you in crucial states.

Trump has actually modified the Muslim ban. It's now a regional ban such as the one Rand Paul proposed, not a blanket ban on all Muslims.

Then lost by 10% in 2012. Turnout went down 4 points too.

Wonder what's going to happen with Pence on the ballot. I bet it's within 5% this year.
