Any euro experts with any insight on him?
I think he was the 4th pick.
Drafted over some really good players.
Is he a bust?

He averaged like 2 points a game in Euroleague and was usually DNP-CD. He was the 15th man on his team, Maccabi.
He's a project. He was a project the last 2 years in Maccabi.
If you expected anything more than a project, you never saw him play before.

Thanks, bro. I had never seen him play until a couple of summer league games.
He just camps out at the three point line and bricks the shit out of shots.
Game was tied with no time left and all he had to do was hit one free throw, but he bricked two straight.

Yeah he is like the ultimate project. All framework, far from NBA ready.
But I find it hard to blame Phoenix for taking an 18 year old with that combination of skills and upside. Unlike Kristaps, I'm sure this guy actually is gonna take 2-3 years at least to deserve meaningful starter minutes. They sure as hell ain't going to ever make noise by playing it safe.

Based on the one game I saw yesterday all he did was camp out at the 3 point line. Nothing else.
I think it's safe to say if Porzingis would have had a bad year last year he wouldn't have been picked until at least the #10 pick. He was basically hyped as a riskier potential Porzingis 2.0. He still would have gotten picked basically off of his height alone though

He is the youngest player in the Draft and currently in the NBA.

I wasn't quite as disappointed with him. The shot has structure, even though he didn't shoot it well. But the thing I wondered about was if he could move and how big he really was. He's legit as far as height and length go, but he got out and moved his feet a bunch. I thought he was pretty good on that end. And his passing instincts were good.
I agree about the camping out in the half court though. I would've liked to have seen more cutting. He did have an occasional post up, which he mostly passed out of. But once he got on the three point line the most you could hope for was an occasional circle cut. That could've been in large part because of the limited offensive installation.
At his age, I still come away fairly positive with what little we saw. And in general that Phx team had a great draft, so having a longer term project like Bender doesn't bother me as much. Chriss is also a project, but he's got some playable skills right now. And Ulis is a rotational guard in the league at least.

I hope he pans out.
