Islam invented hospitals

Islam had the first concepts and use of the modern hospital. Except they showed their true compassion by never charging any of their patients for treatment. It was the Western World who perverted the concept into a money making scheme.

"Hospitals as we know them today, with wards and teaching centers, come from 9th century Egypt," explained Hassani. The first such medical center was the Ahmad ibn Tulun Hospital, founded in 872 in Cairo. Tulun hospital provided free care for anyone who needed it -- a policy based on the Muslim tradition of caring for all who are sick. From Cairo, such hospitals spread around the Muslim world.

The 8th to 13th centuries were a very productive time in Islamic history. They were the most advanced and tolerant civilization in the world at this point in time.

If only that level of tolerance and progression and openness to science would return to modern Islam.

Here's a fun project for everyone.

Find and compare Jewish Nobel Peace Prize winners versus Islamic Nobel Peace Prize winners. It'll be a hoot.

I don't think Islam existed back in 880 AD, brother. Sounds like this guy wants to rewrite history.

I don't know about that as China, India, Egypt and others were on dat surgery game, but yeah, 70,000 angels bless the people who visit the sick. Blessings also of course extend to those who feed the needy, orphans, widows etc.

In terms of health in general, it should be duly noted that the principles practiced by the Prophet are universal and intended for all of mankind. Walk a lot, raise your kids up in the country side, fasting, eat honey, garlic, vinegar (for anti-bacterial purposes), fresh baked bread, drink sheep's milk, organic fruits and vegetables, olive, black cumin (cure for everything), consider cupping (hijama), balancing all aspects of the body, offer the five prayers, labor diligently, get adequate sunlight, learn swimming, have marital relations, use the miswak for diligent dental care, make sure to perform the ritual ablutions and be pure, apply the ithmid (antimony) for sharper eyesight, be in a constant state of gratitude and reverence to the Lord etc.

Of course reading the Good Book is a cure in and of itself

Where it conflicts with the Modern Western World? probably too much sitting on chairs and taking of prescription pills. better to do the full squat. otherwise pretty harmonious.

If anyone knows anything about Traditional Chinese Medicine, or Ayurveda or others; please chime in and share the knowledge. Let's all agree that we on ISH want to be INDEPENDENT of relying on healthcare systems to be in tip-top condition.

Apologies for a lack of compassion towards you earlier. It's Stephen Curry that rubs off on a wrong way, but you're probably a kind chap no doubt!
