Was Ted Cruz's move last night alpha?

Did he assert himself as a carrier of massive balls?

Are you hurt because he didn't toe the line and support the Donald?

Real conflict of alphaness in my opinion here and I am curious of the view inside the bubble...

thanks
(BTW, please refrain from calling me a liberal pu$$y, the strawman attacks are below you now, you right wing toughies are strong, independent, job creating earners and are too busy with your empires to cast aspersions on someone sincerely asking questions...cheers!)

Actually, since Trump read his speech two hours before he went on, and thus knew he wasn't going to endorse him, and still let him speak...

Says a lot to me.

Glad that Cruz didn't sell out. Glad that Trump allowed him to speak anyway.

On the flip side, I remember when Trump was hesitant to sign the agreement during the first Republican debate to support the eventual Republican candidate and everyone booed him, but now... Now Cruz and Kasich, despite signing the agreement, haven't been true to their word.

Now everyone is seeing it.

“Senator Cruz was a little surprised by the depth of the boos,” the source said. “Donors have been emailing, declaring that he’s dead, that it’s the end of his political career.

Lolololol. Should have thought of that before you signed the agreement.

Trump wins again.

Ted Cruz remained true to himself and did what he felt was right.

Trump read his speech previously and allowed Ted to have his moment in the sun because he knew Ted didn't have the support Ted thought he had. Trump knew Ted would get booed, and Trumps enemy getting roundly booed would make Trump look better by contrast.

Trump likely knew that Ted's career would be ruined by this speech. All the same, I am happy he did not censor and block the speech from happening, like Hillary Clinton would likely do if Bernie tried to pull a move like this on her.

It's all very simple to understand.

Exactly. So let's talk as mutually invested citizens of society and leaders of our community about the issues, rather than obsess every word and gesture of a bunch of guys in a pomped up pageant to win a grandiose job title.

Let's talk amongst ourselves about the issues that concern us, as real men should do.

Where would you like to start?

If Trump loses, which I assume he most likely will, Cruz wins.

If Trump wins and does a terrible job as president which is possible, Cruz wins.

If Trump wins and does a terrible job as president which is possible, Cruz still loses.

He essentially shot himself in the foot last night. I have seen nothing but negative comments about his speech. What minority backing of the Republican base he had is all but dissolved. Even Texas delegates were booing him last night.

Trump read his speech beforehand and let him speak anyway because he knew he was shooting himself in the foot.

i see it as Cruz gets to tell his constituents after this great Trump experiment fails:

"I was right about Trump, and I never sold my soul to GOP, I stood up for what I believed in".

Let the Trumpturds have their moment.

It'll all come crashing down on them soon enough and Cruz will be there to say "I told you so"...

Cruz deserves props. Trump insulted his honor and his wife. He did the right thing as a man, but the wrong thing as a politician.

He took a chance, threw a hail mary, and failed.

At least he tried. Most people wouldn't have done that.

All the same, any hope he has of ever being elected for anything again is over.

At least he went out with his honor somewhat intact.

Cruz apparently doesn't understand that most of the #NeverTrump crowd that rallied behind him in the later primaries are neocons and not Cruz's "principled conservatives".

They hate Cruz almost as much as Trump and they will not have his back in 2020.

Trump let Cruz hang himself and he did so with gusto.

Ted knew he ****ed up the moment Trump walked into the stands and all the boes aimed at Ted turned into cheers for Trump. When you look at videos from the floor you can see pretty much everyone turn their back on Cruz. He got castrated by the ultimate alpha on live TV.

You are nearsighted if you can't see that he's betting Trump loses badly.

It's actually a great move politically, he'd look like a schmuck endorsing Trump after all the bad blood between them at the latter part of the primary.

If Trump loses, the Trump supporters are purged from the party and he could claim he didn't sell out and he's the real deal conservative.

That some Michael Corleone shit there

Well, if his long term plan works, well done to him.

He is extremely unlikable to the average voter and even his own party hates him, so if he somehow finds a way to turn all that around and become leader of his party in only 4 years, again you have to hand that man some props.

The 538 poll show Trump gaining on Hillary significantly.

You sure you're not part of the ban bet with DonDadda? Because hanging around here after running your mouth would not be honorable.

Trump is even more unlikeable, have you seen his negatives, even among moderate Republicans and those who claim he really isn't a conservtive at all? Yet he's the GOP nominee :confusedshrug:

Hillary is also unlikeable but Trump trumps her on unlikeability :lol

Cruz simply isn't a genuine person. Cruz's only purpose for his speech last night is that he thought it would benefit his personal political career. He just calculated wrong. He didn't think that He would be booed off the stage.

Stop with this "he stood up to Trump" nonsense. If he wanted to stand up to Trump, he wouldn't have gone at all and would would actively go on a "don't vote for Trump" campaign. Not speak at his convention, congratulate him for winning and avoid an explicit endorsement.

Trump is still down and this is after all the email, FBI investigation bad publicity, anti-Establishment mood...he should be up, not "gaining on her", lol.

Her worst moments are over, the DNC is coming up and then the real game starts. The fact that fukking Texas is within single digits along with Utah (lmao) and Arizona (lol) should be VERY concerning to the Trump campaign. All the reliable Blue states are out of reach for Trump (even NY where Trump is from, rofl) while the Dems have the money to make Trump spend in states he shouldn't have to, make him play defense.

Dude, you really need to learn how US General Elections work :facepalm

Another thing, when the real campaigning begins, Hillary will have Bill Clinton (who is still quite popular among white older blue collar workers who remember the 90s), Bernie Sanders who can get his followers to get in line (or at the very least to not defect to Trump) and Obama, who has positive marks by most Americans.

Trump can't even get the guy who won the second most votes after him to fall in line, who's gonna campaign for him??? Chris Christie? lol

On top of that, she has waaaay more money than Trump and in US politics, that matters (part of the reason we should take Big Money out of our politics).

Trump really has no chance unless Hillary royally fukks this up.

This is what I do know.

You are counting on those who you THINK will turn up to vote. You are not counting on those who are emotionally invested in Trump, as there will be with the other side too I'm sure.

There are more variables than just the poll. This election won't be so predictable, because this election will be drawing out people who may not normally vote, but want something done about immigration or gays who feel let down by the formerly known as Liberals. There are latinos and blacks who are disappointed at the lies perpetuated by the media and their own people.

The Brexit vote was a good warning about people ASSUMING what people want.

I don't know how they run polls in Europe but most US polling agencies are pretty good. Then you have websites where they average out the polls and weigh them down to specifics.

If Trump is down in the run-up to the election, I hate to break it to you but the possibility of him surprising everyone is pretty much nil.

You do know that the Democrats are known for their "Get Out The Vote" programs, right? They are especially effective in GEs. That's the reason they've won the popular vote 5 out of the last 6 presidential elections.

There aren't enough disgruntled old white dudes to turn this one in favor of the Donald...sorry.

Well his numbers are up. We shall see how long it lasts.

Hillary has the incestuous child molester Lena Dunham speaking at her convention. The DNC might not be a good thing for Shilldawg.

Lena ****ing Dunham out there to announce the Democratic nominee for the goddam President of the United States. As much as I can absolutely believe this, I still actually cant. I just cant believe that at the end of the day, this was the best the DNC could dig up for their show. In the words of Donald Trump….Sad! I guess Hillary and company were like, do you know what we need? We need a girl who’s a Mouthy Potato. We need a girl who looks like a clumpy tub of bleu cheese dressing. Is there anyone out there looks like a soft boiled egg but can also give a speech? Hillary needs an uncooked Thanksgiving turkey to announce her! Who can we get??

Lena Dunham!!!

I feel like Hillary and the Democrats have some sort of Batsignal for Lena Dunham. They flash the picture of a stuffed baked potato into the sky and she shows up with her floppy tits.

You’re telling me there wasnt one person…not ONE person…who was like “Well. Yea, she fits our target. But also she fingered her sister. And faked a rape case. So maybe we shouldnt go with her?” Insanity, man. Insanity. Its one thing for her to have a TV show and keep doing all these interviews and shit despite molesting her sister. Its another thing to represent one of the major political parties in this country.

- Barstool Sports on Lena Dunham speaking at the DNC. Lol
