Just so people understand, that isn't Trump's plane with a new paint job. That's an entirely new plane Trump bought for Mike Pence.
And people say a Trump doesn't have $$$.

You can't knock his genorosity.
No matter how much you have, buying someone a fcking plane is pretty special.
The Donald has many stories of his genorosity, people who recieved anonymous donations when he stumbled accross a good story, or even people within his organisations.
He can say stupid shit on TV to get exposure, but the real Donald is a good guy.

I'm not sure he literally "bought" Mike Pence a plane. Probably rented it from Boeing for 4 months.

He doesn't. Not anywhere near as much as he claims anyway, which is why he will never release his tax returns.
I'm guessing that's just left over inventory from the bankrupt/defunct Trump Shuttle Inc. (He purchased the 727 fleet via a loan of $380 million from 22 banks).
Back in '09, he tried selling his 727 for pennies on the dollar (http://flyingwithfish.boardingarea.com/2009/11/10/want-your-own-boeing-727-donald-trump-is-selling-hischeap/). That was around the time Trump Entertainment casinos were going through a 4th round of bankruptcies.

I believe Forbes has his net worth at $4 billion, while Trump insists he's at $10 billion. He's probably inflating by a lot, but either way, I'm sure he's a billionaire.

The Donald's biographer, NY Times journalist/editor Timothy O'Brien, in the 2005 Book 'The Art of Being Donald Trump' estimated his net worth to be in the neighborhood of $200 million after extensive and exhaustive research. Mind you, this was before the most recent Trump Entertainment bankruptcy that saw the Taj Mahal go under, only to be bought by actual billionaire Carl Icahn (who bailed the Donald's other AC casino out of bankruptcy as well).
In typical Drumpf fashion, he sued O'Brien for $5 billion. :oldlol:
The judge tossed that case (http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=8100467&page=1), naturally.
One has to ask himself- why would anyone who is worth billions of dollars have to stoop to fleecing retirees out of their life savings via a fake university ponzi scheme? How many fake Universities does Bill Gates or Warren Buffet operate? :lol

No, it's not. The banks took over the Trump Shuttle when he defaulted on the loans. The banks then sold the business to US Air who eventually sold it to American Airlines last year. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_Shuttle) The American Airlines Shuttle is still in business.
Trump Shuttle never made a profit.
The Pence plane is a 1998 Boeing 737 and you can buy one for under 4 million according to the listings I just looked at. It depends how many miles it flew. Other 737s from 2000 were about 8 million. A 737 comes in various configurations as well. But it's between 4-8 million. So buying it outright is not out of the question for a campaign.

Dude has used campaign appearances on talk shows to argue his Trump University case and flew to Scotland to promote his golf course.
You have to pay fair market value, but the campaign is supposed to separate from Trump inc. This means he is not getting bids for the lowest bidder.
Having campaign offices in Trump Tower is a terrible waste of money for a campaign. Because you are paying market rates to be on 57th and 5th. Unless the candidate is making money off rent. Do you think Trump's plane is the cheapest way to fly? It is not. So you if you are Donating to Trump, something like 20% of the donations are going back to Trump business and you are not getting value for those businesses.

This.
In Avionics history this 737 is highly regarded by many pilots.
People are clueless when they are saying this plane is old. I hate to break it to you guys but Boeing and other manufacturers are not pumping out planes every year like they do with cars.
Heck, they don't even make a new model every 5 years.
They design it the best they can ONCE and put them to service for many many years.
Age and years is obsolete when discussing a plane.
Here is NASA's...this particular plane is an icon in avionics.

no, not obsolete you moron. years is a gauge on how worn a plane may be by how many take offs and landings it has endured. same way you can gauge a cars mileage by how many years its been driven. commercial planes including 747's are usually decommissioned at about 20 years. this plane is 18 years old.

Actually, planes keep count of the exact number of take offs, flight hours, etc. and have to go in every 18 months for a check up and to make sure it's up to current standards and regulations.
If a plane is in good shape, it's in good shape, regardless of "years".

ofcourse they keep track of how many cycles a plane has. it is regulated by the government.:facepalm
but as a practical assumption, "years" is still a gauge on how worn a plan can be. If your average commerical plane is decommissioned around 20 years, then you can guess that a plane around 20 years has had that many cycles. hard to understand? :confusedshrug:

No it isn't. They don't guess how "worn" a plane "can" be. They thoroughly inspect EXACTLY what shape the plane is in. If they evaluate that it's in proper shape, it's in proper shape.
And they don't guess how many "cycles" a plane had. They keep records of EXACTLY how much use the plane has had.

Also, the aviation community is praising Trump for making a very wise decision by choosing the 737. They are real pilots and thought his choice of plane was a very very smart decision.
Again, Trump is topnotch on every decision.
The plane (built in 1998) is much newer than the ones McCain and Romney used...this plane has transcontinental range and can fly from Boston to San Diego nonstop. The only Republican in the last two campaigns who had a plane anywhere close to new was Sarah Palin (an Embraer 190AR built in 2006 chartered from NYC-based JetBlue).
It makes sense for the Trump Campaign to charter the B-737 they did, for Mike Pence's part of the campaign. As a Charter Pilot, also type rated in the 737, I can say that it was a wise choice.
Trump's campaign is being run like a business should be. Wise and economical choices in everything they do, is the hallmark of the Trump efforts. The use of a 737 from Eastern Charters, is smart. I think that we have a really smart and prudent nominee, who will make a great president!!

Wrap cost more than paint and is only needed for texture and shades that paint can't produce. These are very simple colors.

You're really awful at logic.
Do you think they stop making planes between model years? They are still making new planes all the time.
Additionally there a lots of types of 737s. 737 is whole fleet of different planes with tweaked designs from 1965 to a new model launching in 2017.
There's nothing wrong with the campaign buying an 18 year old plane, they saved themselves like $30 million dollars by doing that.
It's completely goofy to think Trump went out and bought a new plane for 4 months and and it's goofy to be impressed by the campaign buying a plane and putting their logo on it. It's a super weird thing and I don't know why the conservative blogs were so excited by it.

I personally don't care if this is a brand new plane or a 50 year old plane.
I don't care if the design was handpainted by Michaelangelo or if it's a printed out decal that peels off in 2 weeks.
As long as it flies safely, and gets the job done, it's good enough.
