Kobe

He can get the job done with Pau Gasol

Wade can only get the job done when teaming up with Shaq or LeBron

Peak - Wade
Overall - Kobe

I'm a Laker fan and Kobe is one of my favorites but I'd take 2009 Wade over any version of Kobe.

It's a very tough choice because they both make excellent Robins.

Neither can quite lead a team past the first round without a HOF teammate. But they are still darn good basketball players.

In the end, I think Wade plays better defense so if I had to start a team with a second option, which is the ideal scenario for these two players, I would go with Wade.

If you feel that way as a Laker fan then you must understand how bad of a collusion it was when LeBron left for Wade's team

Leave it to the sophomore in high school to make the analysis :lol

Anyway...Kobe had a much more fortunate situation in the early part of his career.

Wade winning a ring in 06 kinda shows that he was on that level. Give him a prime shaq and he probably wins a lot more.

Injuries took a toll on him after 2012 or so but peak/prime Wade was every bit as good.

Kobe had the better career obviously. But Wade stressed the defense in ways that Kobe didn't. And he was a better playmaker.

As a sidekick, Kobe
As the man, wade (despite that choke job in 2011)

09 Wade is better than any version of Kobe.
But as for an entire career I'm choosing Kobe by a considerable margin.

Wade won in 06 with much less help than Kobe had in 09/10. Gasol put up 18/11 .556 TS while Shaq was putting up 13/10 on .532 TS. Wade outscored Shaq by 21 ****ing points per game :biggums:

Check out the massive game score difference between Wade/Shaq:

Kobe/Gasol were basically equal:

Who was Wade's HOF teammate in 2004? Caron Butler? Lamar Odom?

I don't know why people always seem to forget 2004. Wade even hit a couple game winners in the playoffs. People also forget that in 2005 Wade basically won the ECSF by himself. It's also safe to say that he didn't get HOF production from anyone in the 2006 finals. Simply being labeled as a HOFer is irrelevant if you don't produce like one (e.g. Wade in the 2014 finals).

For careers it's obviously Kobe due to greater longevity. I'd take Wade if we compare their 3-4 best seasons though, he fares better in advanced stats, and i prefer his slashing game when it comes to playing elite defenses.

This is nonsense because Shaq in 06 wasn't really playing any better than Pau when the lakers won.

Great point, which I overlooked.

Wade has gotten out of the first round without a HOF teammate. Kobe has not :(

Ergo, Wade > Kobe.

It is what it is.

Better yer, who was Wade's hall of fame teammate this past year when the Heat advanced past the Hornets?
