Beyond all the BS. Beyond all the nostalgia. Beyond all the brainwashing by the media. Beyond all the lies. Beyond it all to the realest top 10 list of all time...
1. Jordan
2. Kobe
3. Kareem
4. Duncan
5. Magic
6. Bird
7. Shaq
8. Hakeem
9. Malone
10. Garnett
That's as real as you can get, folks. Russell, Wilt, Robertson and those boys played in 8 team leagues, worked at bowling alleys in the off-season, smoked during halftime, played against scrubs, etc. Yes, those players paved the way...but no way in hell are they top 10 players of all time. Russell played on the most stacked teams of all time, averaged 15ppg on 47 ts% for his career, etc. Wilt was a choker. Etc.
Just be real. Just be honest.
I am trying to see it dude. I really am. It starts off fine but you lose the plot here:

otoh, people dont have to constantly tell others that lebron is top 5 because he is universally known as a top 5 player except by salty kobe stans/haters. Thats the difference, nobody except kobe stans think kobe is top 5/10 otoh, any non biased/hater will agree lebron is top 5

LeBron colluded
He left his originally drafted team and joined with 2 of the top 5 players in the league
Only to get outscored in the next finals by Jason Terry
Then a collude back to Cleveland and his legacy is completely compromised, that isn't even getting into how one of his rings is from a lockout (colluded as well)
Wilt doesn't really belong there either. He exchanged stats for winning and was the king of empty stats. Also the competition from that era is highly suspect.
I can see why you left them out of the top 10

Yet outperformed routinely by the players above him on the top 10 list. LBJ for example is a better performer in every aspect of NBA basketball whether its the regular season, playoffs or finals. I hate to break it to you but 2 finals MVPs and 1 MVP isn't that impressive when compared to some of the other players we are talking about.

Basically anyone who's seen me post knows I dislike the Brick Mamba heavily and am an unabashed Bransvestite, so don't mistake this for me thinking Kobe would ever get hired at the Top Ten Building as anything other than doorman or chauffeur. That being said, there's a distinct and very annoying accolade similarity between two players... player A on the left, player B on the right.
6 rings > 5 rings

There is no doubt that looking SOLELY at career accolades, Kobe Bryant's overall "wall of achievements" is largely comparable to Kareem pretty much across the board. It doesn't mean everything on its own (of course) but I just thought that was kind of cool just how closely their careers resemble each other's.
BUT....... the issue is the MVP count of 6-1. That's a MASSIVE gap, Stalk. Massive. I'm curious to hear your case as to why Kobe is better than Kareem, when I feel like so many of your arguments for him are based off of his career longevity, ASG appearances, First-Team selections, total chips... these are things Kareem did just as well (factoring in combined 1st/2nd team selections it's pretty much identical in that department) WITH the 5 MVP edge.
We all know these threads always turn into LeBron vs. Kobe vs. the other players that get the board's panties in a knot, but why is the Mamba ahead of KAJ specifically for you?

Wilt was bigger faster, stronger, and more athletic than 99.9% of the modern athletes today. He was taller than Shaq, faster than Hakeem, with more stamnia than Lebron. I dont care if he played in 1862... The guys dimensions are what they are.. out of this world.

50.4 in a season
30.1 for his career
Rebound King
Goat GOat GOat just look at the record books..
Of all his memories of Wilt Chamberlain, the one that stood out for Larry Brown happened long after Chamberlain's professional career was over.
On a summer day in the early 1980s at the Men's Gym on the UCLA campus, Chamberlain showed up to take part in one of the high-octane pickup games that the arena constantly attracted. Brown was the coach of the Bruins back then, and Chamberlain often drove to UCLA from his home in Bel Air, Calif.
"Magic Johnson used to run the games," Brown recalled Tuesday after hearing that Chamberlain, his friend, had died at the age of 63, "and he called a couple of chintzy fouls and a goaltending on Wilt.
"So Wilt said: 'There will be no more layups in this gym,' and he blocked every shot after that. That's the truth, I saw it. He didn't let one (of Johnson's) shots get to the rim." Chamberlain would have been in his mid-40s at the time, a decade removed from one of the greatest careers any basketball player ever produced. But the advancing years meant little to Chamberlain in terms of physical conditioning.

Kobe went to b2b2b finals and won b2b titles with the least amount of help in NBA history when you combine the two.
Kareem never won without a top 10 potential GOAT. (Some have Oscar in there)
The MVP argument is invalid because the media has hated Kobe ever since the alleged rape.

Kobe is actually getting disrespected on these boards nowadays. His lone MVP could easily be 3 or 4 if his luck had been different (imagine if he had played on contending rosters in his peak, rather than in the beginning and end of his prime).
But having him ranked #2 is an insult to every true fan's intelligence. He's in the same tier with Shaq, LeBron, Duncan, Magic, Bird.

We have enough game tapes for seeing "Russell and other legends" s talents and plays , and reading about game of the time , analyzing with numbers ; not just individuals , bringing together all .. Team numbers , opponent numbers and how individual numbers effected to those etc etc ..

Because you have to judge players relative to their era. When Russell DOMINATES a huge chunk of NBA history with 11 rings you can't ignore it and say oh bron would've been the best player back them because of more advancements in training these days or some bull like that.
If a player dominates his own era so emphatically that noone in that era can even compare, what difference does it make if we know things only watching games can tell us, like handling, defensive positioning, offensive awareness and so on?
Sure, in terms of comparing players 1x1 you have to watch games and not rely on stats, but when you compare careers and you don't put Russell, who won 11 fkin rings on your list, it's just disrespectful not only to him, but to the game and it's history.

Lets get real Lebron has no case over Kareem yetHe's won 3 titles as lead dog to Kareem's 2.
He's never had anyone as good as prime Magic playing with him.
He played better in this year's finals than kareem every did during any of his.
He's 2nd in career PER, ahead of Kareem, and only behind MJ.
He's 2nd in career playoff PER, ahead of kareem and only behind MJ.
He'll surpass kareem in playoff points this coming season.
He'll surpass kareem in finals points this coming season.
He has the highest vorp and ws in nba post season history already at 31.
He was more dominant at his peak than kareem was at his.
He is a more versatile player and defender and can play more positions effectively than kareem.
He is a 27 ppg career scorer while kareem is at 24 ppg. Even if Lebron declines, he's going to end up with a higher average.
He had a MUCH higher playoff and finals scoring average than Kareem.

Not sure if serious.
He's never had anyone as good as prime Magic playing with him.
He had prime Wade and prime Bosh in '11.
He played better in this year's finals than kareem every did during any of his.
1971 - 28/19/3 on 61% (with probably about 4+ blocks.
1980 - 33/14/3/1/4 on 55% (would've won FMVP if he was healthy for the final game)
Not saying the '85 Finals was better than LeBron's '16 Finals, but Kareem averaged 26/9/5/1/2 on 60% at 37. Arguably better than the majority of LeBron's Finals and he did it at 37.
22/7/1/1/3 on 51% in the '87 Finals at 39 as well.
He's 2nd in career PER, ahead of Kareem, and only behind MJ.
He's 2nd in career playoff PER, ahead of kareem and only behind MJ.
According to PER, Wade should rightfully be ranked in the top 15.
He was more dominant at his peak than kareem was at his.
:biggums:
You do know that Kareem had a season of 35/16/5 on 57%, right?
A 5 year stretch averaging 30/16/5/3/4 on 55%. LeBron doesn't even come close to those numbers. 29/17/4/1/2 on 50% over the season stretch in the PO's.
He is a more versatile player and defender and can play more positions effectively than kareem.
Kareem is arguably the greatest center. Ever. The most impactful position defensively and KAJ was a monster defender. One of the greatest scorers ever saw well.
He is a 27 ppg career scorer while kareem is at 24 ppg. Even if Lebron declines, he's going to end up with a higher average.
Through his first 13 seasons, Kareem averaged 28/14/4/1/3 on 56%.
He had a MUCH higher playoff and finals scoring average than Kareem.
Kareem played in the majority of his Finals after his prime.
All time NBA leader in points, 3rd in block, and 3rd in rebounds. 6x NBA champ, 6x MVP, 2x FMVP. A top 3 GOAT scorer AND defender. LeBron literally has no argument over KAJ.
