Bogut was supposed to be a savory for the Bucks ,, a Sabonis type center , where the offense went thru him.
When the Bucks let Bogut go , I was up in arms wondering if it was a good move.

It appears it was the right decision., 1st overall pick for the Bucks

Great player, one of the best rim protectors of his time, in his prime the only player to block more shots than him was Dwight Howard1

However after his horrific injury, he was never the same

He was still a great pick for what could have been reasonably predicted. It's easy to say otherwise retrospectively in hindsight of Chris Paul's emergence as arguably the generationally best Point Guard (not accolodically speaking, of course); but for what could have been reasonable predicted at the time, his trajectory was tallying to his potential.

He still realized his defensive potential

I remember the hype surrounding Bogut. I do wonder how he could've peaked had he not suffered the injury when he did, as his game was really becoming more complete on both ends

He has carved a good career, given his foot, back, ankle and arm injuries.

He just wasn't as good as people thought he might be. But he was good. A guy any team would want. But no all-star.

No sense blaming injuries for what never would have been. He's had a good career. As good a role player as there is at his position. There have been multiple-year All-Stars I wouldn't take over him.

All the above also goes for his Warriors teammate Sean Livingston.

He was better than an allstar, he was All NBA third team.
I don't blame the injuries, but despite the injuries, he has had a good career anyway.

He was a better player than someone like Joakim Noah who has a bullshit first team on his list of accomplishments.

Was a fantastic defensive force and an overlooked offensive player, wasn't really first pick material though.
