Spiderman merchandise outsells Batman and Superman combined

SPIDER-MAN Is World's Most Profitable Superhero (And It's Not Even Close)

Last year, Marvel sold approximately $1.3B worth of Spider-Man products, which is approximately four times the $325M they made from the Avengers. Meanwhile, their competition over at DC has struggled to keep up. Unsurprisingly, their most popular property was Batman, who brought in a respectable $494M, while their second most popular hero, Superman, brought it about $277M.

Batman, Superman, Spiderman is the consensus top 3 (In no order)

Each probably has a case

I'd say Batman is the GOAT

Dominated the cinematic realm, Animated realm

Superman has done well in the cinematic realm, Animated realm but also in the TV realm (10 seasons of Smallville)

Spiderman has done well in the cinematic realm, Animated realm,

Also Batman has dominated the video game realm too

Actual GOTY type games

Batman and it isn't close.

Best character
Most inspiring.
Most badass.
Best support crew (Alfred, Commissioner Gordon, and Robin are all icons in their own right)
Best villains and enemies.
Best stories and comics.

I think it's Spiderman or Batman if we're talking popularity.

Don't forget the most important point. His mom shares the same name as Superman's mom!!

Yo ISB, if you're telling the truth about already seeing suicide squad, how was Jared Leto's Joker?

I don't deny Spider-Man's greatness

But he can't match Batman's ability to dominate pretty much any medium

Spider-Man's film quality is close to Superman's IMO, but nowhere near close to Batman

Spider-Man 2 and The original Superman are both top tier

IMO Batman has consensus GOAT status like Jordan

And what separated him from Spiderman and Superman was Nolan's trilogy

How good was Leto's Joker in Suicide Squad

Also combine the success of the Batman Arkham game franchise during the same period... 2005-2015 is the GOAT period for a Superhero

I think it's important to recognize that the original Spiderman opened the doors for entire Superhero genre. Before the box office success of that movie, Superhero movies were still considered niche.

What order should I watch all these recent superhero movies in or does it even matter? Anything post Chris Nolan's batman movies.

Don't get me wrong, I like Batman too but the reason why Spiderman is more popular is because he's more relatable. Peter Parker is an everyman. He could be me or you. He's not a billionaire playboy or an alien with godlike powers.

You can make that same exact argument for Batman because he has no super powers

Behind Batman I would have to say that Goku is the #2 hero. He's basically a super hero. He's basically Superman only a better character with a lot of weaknesses. Acts goofy and slightly autistic when not training (he is an alien so fair enough) but can step up and act badass when he needs to be the protector of earth. Always does the right thing.

He's Superman with an edge and more weaknesses and more personality.

I think more people around the world love Goku more than they do Super Man.

In terms of new heros, One Punch Man is the best and most creative I've seen in a long time.

Dude is not relatable at all.

1. Married to a super model famous actress who has been in love with him since high school. Has the hotty super hero Black Cat as a side chick whenever he gets bored of MJ

2. A genius scientist who is friends with the most intelligent and interesting people in the world like Reed Richards, Tony Stark and Steven Strange.

3. Super strong, insane reflexes, basically the best natural athlete ever.

4.Whines about having no money despite being a pulitzer prize winning photographer and scientist who owns his own research institution and is friends with the richest people in the country who would gladly give him $1,000,000 cash if he ever asked for it.

Peter Parker is not relatable.

Spiderman was awesome in the 60s and 70s and 80s. He became pretty shit afterwards.

Goku definitely qualifies. He was part of an era and generation in America.

While for a short period.....he is just as recognizable as any other home grown American super hero.
