What a legend. It's the best decision for his own career, and it makes Durant look like more of a bitch.
Im glad to see OKC, being a small market, not have to go through a complete rebuild.

Will they have the cap space next year to sign some high end free agents?

"Talks between the sides centered around the addition of two more years to Westbrook's current deal, which expires after the 2016-17 season. The new deal would call for Westbrook's salary to jump from $17.8 million next season to the maximum $26.5 million. He would then earn the max the next two seasons if he exercises the third-year option."

"The player option for the third season of the deal will allow Westbrook to capitalize on the league rule allowing players who have completed 10 seasons to earn a larger max salary."

He is going to leave after 2 seasons. This was just a money grab. Not "loyalty" or "alpha" you simpletons.

Exactly what I was thinking. They shouldn't wait that long though because the 2017 draft is stacked. No need to pick up meaningless wins.

Both sides came out on top

Westbrook got an extra 9M this season

OKC got one more guaranteed year on contract - which also raises his trade value in case both parties decide to go their separate ways later this season

That obviously wasn't the case. KD truly is the ultimate beta.

Reminds me of Kobe after Shaq left. But WB isn't as single minded as a scorer but uses his energy to impact the game in more ways. But now that KD isn't there, defenses will focus exclusively on him. I'll be interested to see how he handles the doubles on a nightly basis. Being "the man" is hard.

There were some saying the same thing about Mo Williams in 2010 to

Especially in Cleveland, Mo acted all pissy at the homecoming game lol

Yeah right, dude was dumped right away when everyone noticed he was trash

Rode the bench on other teams because he was a product of LeBron James University

Then came crawling back to the King "Help bro im nuthin without you"

And dude got served a ring on a platter for riding the bench

You may never know, KD might do the same thing and come back to OKC in a few yrs :pimp:

It amazes me that these simple minded people dont udnerstand that. Whether he comes to LA or goes anywhere, he is only adding 1 more year to his deal. He's doing it so that he can take advantage of the 10 year experience max. He's not gonna take that third year.

He is giving LA 2 years to build a winner. And tht is all they need. We gonna be 1 star away at that point. lol
