Which LeBron got thanks to Kyrie getting past Thompson and having Green to rotate. So not only did Kyrie hit the clutch 3, but he also forced the game winning free throws.
Thank you Kyrie.

This is the problem with this thinking, you can go back and back and back.
Were it not for LeBron's historic block, Kyrie would have most likely never hit that shot, let alone in that scenario, and LeBron never would have hit that Gamewinner.. And what of Love's stop on Curry?

The mods have not gone MIA. You just don't understand why this forum is governed the way it is. There are broader ideas at work here. To think otherwise is child's logic.
But fear not my son.. It will not be long til the NBA season starts again, and perhaps you might be able to bask in glory June next year, as they have done..

Couldn't you do that with every play in NBA history?
Usually, the last shot made in the game, if it swings the game in one direction or another, is thought of as the definitive play of the game ... and, in this case, the series/Finals.
That's the way it always has been.
You remember Jordan hitting the shot on Russell, not his steal on Malone.
Craig Ehlo is remembered for having Jordan's game-winner nailed in his face, not the fact that the whole reason the Cavs had the lead was Ehlo made a great play getting to the basket and putting Cleveland up the possession before.
That shot will live on in eternity, as it should.
And, let's be honest about it... if the roles were reversed... If Kyrie had blocked Curry the way he did in last year's Finals except with under 2 minutes left and LeBron hit the game-winning three with 50 seconds left, no one would be talking about Kyrie's block.
I say that having been the happiest guy in the world when LeBron chased down Iggy and he had tons of big plays in the series.
But, Kyrie hit the definitive shot of the 2015-16 season.

With Jordan, I don't think people just remember the final shot. I think they remember that be scored, stole the ball from the 2nd best player in basketball who was his biggest rival and then scored the title winning shot. A trinity of plays
I think it's the same with the Cavs this year. Most people I talk to bring up all 3 as a collective. "The Block, the shot, and the stop".
It's frustrating how Love doesn't get as much credit on here as he does in real life.

I just don't think Kyrie has gotten quite the respect that other guys the media loves like Westbrook or Curry would get if they had done exactly the same thing throughout an entire playoff run... not just The Finals, but the whole playoffs. The guy made huge play after huge play and did it while allowing LBJ the space so he could do his thing.
Kyrie is about to become just the 4th player NBA history to win an NBA championship and a gold medal in the same summer. The other three are Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and LeBron James.
And, he's still so young...
More to your point, Love's defense and rebounding was really good for the entire Game 7. And, the other thing is, although he didn't score much in the series, his presence on the floor gives Kyrie and LeBron the space they need to do the things that they do.
Unfortunately, Love is in the Chris Bosh role right now on ISH. He was constantly made fun of on here, but I think in retrospect people understand his importance to those Heat teams.
I think Love figured some things out as that series went along and he'll be better against those kinds of teams in the future. Let's also not forget that this will be the first real offseason, training camp and preseason that this core group (LeBron, Kyrie, Love, TT, JR, Shump, etc) have had together.
The first one was a mish-mash of new faces and new coaches and last year Kyrie and Love were both hurt.
The 2016 playoffs showed us just the tip of how good this team could be, imo.

Fair enough. Irving might even take over as best player as early as 2 years from now if he keeps developing. It's was incredible to watch how confident a kid was when matched up with the reigning 2 time mvp and scoring champ. He was ASKING for Curry on isolations and just abused and bullied him time and time again in the last 3 games.
It remains to be seen if the cohesion will increase enough to give the Cavs a good chance of beating the new Warriors, with Durant and all. Either way, I think they're looking good for the next few years. Kyrie could take over as primary scorer and lebron can settle into his comfortable playmaking role as he ages.
