Interestingly future Dream Teamers Mullin and Ewing were on the team too. Jordan led the 84' team with 17 PPG

I found some good articles around that time, they had scrimmaged against NBA veterans who were instructed to be "physical" (or dirty) against them.

Interesting thinking about what the 1984 NBA Draft may have looked like if it were held after the Olympics, because Jordan was such an obvious dynamic presence as soon as he was outside of Dean Smith's carefully constructed system.

Bob Knight was the coach of that team and he was on record as saying Jordan was maybe the most talented player he'd ever seen. Even in these highlights, you can hear the commentators saying that he had a chance to be one of the best players ever.

After seeing that, I just can't imagine Portland still selecting Bowie second. The question is whether or not the Rockets still take Dream over Jordan. They probably would, because Hakeem was great in his own right and that was the era of the bigman.

But, holy mother of god Jordan looks like he is playing at a different speed than everyone else on the floor, including other great players on his own team.

The instinctive passing jumps out to me as well as the effortless athleticism. Dude literally bounces off the ground without gathering himself at times.

And that is why I kept mentioning MJ's 'read and react' ability in the video I made. Whether it's to swing the ball or look to score, MJ just played a few steps ahead.
