MJ (4 - 1991, 1992, 1996, 1998)
Russell (4 - 1961, 1962, 1963, 1965) - Not official but merely a formality if they tracked it.

Bird (2 - 1984, 1986)
LeBron (2 - 2012, 2013)

Duncan (1 - 2003)
Shaq (1 - 2000)
Hakeem (1 - 1994)
Magic (1 - 1987)
Moses (1 - 1983)
KAJ (1 - 1971)
Reed (1 - 1970)
Wilt (1 - 1967) Like Russell, merely a formality

Made the same thread literally just a couple of days ago.

Kinda gives you a good idea of the top 10 players to ever play minus reed.

Take out Reed and Malone, and you have the top 10 players of all time, just in the wrong order.

KAJ has an extrmely strong case for 2 (1980). He was averaging 33.4 ppg up until his injury in game 5 and was clearly the best player in that series up until the injury. But can't hate on Magic for having a game for the ages in game 6 but in totality, KAJ should've gotten fmvp.

Barkley (1993) and Malone (1997) could've been on this list but MJ pushed both their sh'ts in. :oldlol:

You can say the same thing about 2016 Curry

But I don't think that's the reason. The Warriors won the previous year with Curry winning team regular season mvp. Curry still didn't win the fmvp.

What makes it even more impressive is besides Reed (and maybe some of Russell's) all of these MVP's are indisputable. Even if Kobe had won FMVP in '08, his MVP would've arguably been the most debatable one on the list

Nope. If GSW had won, the fmvp would've went to Green.

Jordan should have won MVP in 97 as well. Should be 5 times for him.

Absolutely. But people just got tired of giving it to MJ.

He led the Bulls to a 69-13 record, which was the NBA record just a season before when the Bulls went 72-10.
