View Full Version : LeBron/Cavs winning the 2016 championship legit hurt a lot of fans' feelings

Obviously Warriors fans were rooting for their team to beat LeBron/Cavs.
And it obviously makes sense for GSW fans or teams that lost to LeBron/Cavs in the playoffs, to feel one way or the other about it.
But what about fans who have nothing to do with the Cavs' path to the Finals?
Regular neutral fans watched, saw what happened, recognized that LeBron owned the Finals series, and then they just discuss that reality and they accept it, because... that's reality. That's what happened. So you watch basketball, you see what actually happened, and then you discuss it. Standard.
But then there's a small but vocal/passionate set of fans who legit seem to need therapy because LeBron/Cavs succeeded instead of failing. And they don't even appear to be fans of a team that LeBron/Cavs even played. It's fascinating to see.

It made me gain true respect for Lebron. He did what he set out to do. He backed up his words. He proved the haters wrong-me being one of his biggest haters on this forum. When he was crying on the court at the end of game 7, it was a beautiful moment for basketball. I did not like Lebron the man, but that comeback from 3-1 down, lead by Lebron, and his passion for bringing a title to Cleveland made me respect the hell out of him.
Well done Lebron.:applause:

FYP
Otherwise, I agree. It is odd that there seems to be more skepticism about the Cavs clearly winning it this year than there was of Golden State last year... despite them having a relatively easy path to The Finals and then getting a shadow of the Cavaliers team they could have faced.
I don't know if it is Western Conference bias or LeBron/Cleveland hate or what.

Lifelong Pacers fan and also a fan of the Cavaliers as well checking in. That championship had to of stung for the Warriors. They were the best team of all time and then they had a suspension which lead to injuries from their most important defenders which allowed LeBron to go nuts. Some of my family says that Cleveland and especially LeBron lucked out. I don't fully agree with this but I do understand where they are coming from.

LeBron proved a lot of people wrong. For sure. What I find hilarious though is that during the minimal time I've had to post here lately, users, primarily his fanboys, have literally just been trolling. Continuously bumping old threads, calling out posters and creating LeBron-centered topics if only to incite other posters.
Not my forum, and you're obviously entitled to run it how you wish, but can we at least call a spade a spade? :oldlol:

this would be like me, having a sit down conversation with Jerry Jones as to how my fantasy football team has nothing/ no relations to how a real football team out to be built.
Winning? Hurting feelings? this is a bit 1999, but it's as if the press box is my coffin.

How do they distinguish between "created" and "assisted or scored"? Are they using some other ambiguous statistic that falls under "created" or did they just phrase it weirdly?
I'd be interested to see a combination of LeBron and Kyrie with this same statistic. What percentage did the combination account for?

Lebron didnt win against the best team all time. That team was missing several players. Jesus. What the hell is going on in this board?
Yet Bran stans complain the loudest if we talk about Warriors beating the Cavs before, where THEY had the same problems.
Talk about double standards. :facepalm

What a crock of shit. :oldlol: The only Warrior to miss more than one game was Bogut, who was averaging only 12 mpg due to being a net negative when on the court. Only a complete imbecile would try and compare that to missing your 2nd and third best players for the ENTIRE series. :facepalm

Bro...Bogut missing 2 games and Green missing 1 isn't a team missing "several" players for the finals.

No, OP, YOU are the one that's upset...because no matter what false accomplishment Bran is given by Silver, July 8th, 2010, and July 11th, 2014, will NEVER be forgotten or justified.
NOTHING changes and that's why you keep banning those that bring it up.
