I consider myself atheist...

But I was also raised in a Christian (somewhat) home. I don't have a problem with religion. Actually, I have probably spent less than an hour discussing or thinking about religion in the past year; and 40 minutes of that was spent in one thread a few weeks back. Its just not important to me.

Its like vegetarians... My girlfriend is a vegetarian but she doesn't announce it. Some though, want the world to know.

I just think we're all born, live, and die like any other living organism. That's it.

It's the One God who has always been and always will be.
And yes humans don't have free will to the broad extent some think.
The way I think of it is that my body and soul were not a creation of my own rather they were given to me as a trust from the same One who created the heavens, the earth, the life forms. That means following His commands which include an optimal way to live and be from worship to speaking to marriage to inheritance to justice. I have been one of exttemely weak faith in the past and seen my siblings fall into the exact same traps i have just as my father has and that comes from disobedience to God.

Having received blessing after blessing throughout my life as well as suffering I understand that I am not the one who gave myself food or oxygen or parents. They were gift given to me by the One who cares for me and only asks I worship Him and show gratitude to Him and know Him.

When I skimp out on those duties I feel dead sad full of anxiety a lack of order and not whole.
When I do remember and worship I feel and see the order and harmony of things.

Example 1 oh I'm just some evolved ape writing what I think to some stranger in Kentucky
Example 2, my brother is just like you uk2k, a human being and has been through a lot of trauma and raised in a non religious household and watches hella movies.From demonstrating compassion and explaining the religious knowledge that was a gift from God maybe I can learn to help recover veterans undergoing trauma (my first job); gently reconnect Uk2k so that he can have hope for a better future in the afterlife, heal my brothers wounds and walk the straight and narrow like Jesus. My eyes have specifically been guided to you as opposed to the other posts not by chance but rather as two souls who were predestined to interact and aid each other in the journey of life.
