I really liked Mr. Nobody (2009). I don't know how to describe it without spoiling the movie, but it was a cool movie about choices made in life.

That movie was terrible

My wife and I were laughing at how bad Meryl Streep was in it.

A really great underrated movie is People I Know (2002) with Pacino.

Get into non-English film and there is so much great stuff out there to discover.

France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Italy, China. All countries with a long rich history of movies that haven't been seen by nearly enough people. Every time you turn on some schlocky superhero movie you could be seeing a masterpiece.

Edward Yang is one of my favorite directors. Yi Yi and A Brighter Summer Day are masterpieces, but he's one of those directors who hasn't made any mediocre movie.

Yeah, most of the movies in this thread are pretty mainstream. I would go for something like Stroszek. Most of the great films that go unnoticed by the mainstream are foreign tbh.
