bird is the least diva player of all time. No aau, no pampering, from small bubble of society, 100% real. The documentary shows black people used to underrate him because he was white (:rolleyes:), and all the stereo types .. until they got socked in the face.

I wish he was around in the social media times because there would have been a lot of golden shit. Would have made these guys today look like bitches.

I saw Larry from the start. I remember a vid the local news did using Johnny Most audio and the song "Bird is the Word." That vid came out in his first few months. He was the man from the start, all the way up until he hurt his back. I can remember the pictures in the Herald of him writhing in pain at practice, and then he was gone.

Then, there it was "Bird's back!" Yet, the C's fans new, it wouldn't be the same. Or could it? We had the death of Len Bias, and then Kevin got hurt. Parish was awesome, but, it wasn't enough. There was no Walton to relieve him this time.

I always wonder not how good that team could have been had Bias not died, but how good that team could have been if they didn't get so injured as well.
