View Full Version : Would Jason Statham made a better Wolverine?

If you look at all the physical attribute Statham would have made a way better Wolverine. His frame matches up with Wolverine down to the height. The athletic and acrobatic qualities. The raspy voice. Why did they pick Hugh Jackman? My thoughts were they were trying to build the love triangle with Jean Grey. Something I don't believe happened in the comics.
This should have been Wolverine

No. Jackman was great as Wolverine. The only knock on him is that he was too tall, but Statham wouldn't have been better in the actual role because he is terrible outside of his British accent. Also, Statham wasn't the name he is now back when part 1 came out. Only Lock Stock would have given him attention prior to casting.

What's wrong with Jackman's build?

Nah I think they nailed it with Jackman he's perfect for wolverine..
Shame the xmen movies are all over the place, and they can't seem to get a decent script for the wolverine movies.

Nothing is wrong with his build. In terms of height, demenor, acrobatics, and voice, Statham is more accurate to the comic.

Wolverine can't be ****in bald.
Edit: How the **** are you gonna use voice as a criteria from a written medium? The love triangle is real too.

British sounding is more accurate? He has never done a convincing American accent. Particularly in his early attempts. His attempt at being American in The One is one of the worst I have ever heard.

Wolverine is Canadian.
True, but the point remains that Statham never sounds anything but British, even when he has tried.

Have you seen a Jason Statham movie? Love the dude, but he's not an actor. He plays the exact same character in every single movie.
Tom Cruise would have been a better argument, a bad one still, but at least better.
Hugh is loved as Wolverine stop being a contrarian.

Lol, you're not actually getting this worked up over a difference of opinion on who plays Wolvey are you?
I didn't think Hugh played a bad Wolvey, I think Statham in terms of physical appearance and skillset is more accurate to the comic character
wolverine is supposed to be a midget so jackman is too tall at 6'2. otherwise he's perfect.
statham would make a good wolverine too. just gotta get the hair right

Exactly. Wolvey is 5'4 and stalkey. And is extremely agile. Fights like an animal. Not very articulate and speaks in one liners. It doesn't require a whole lot of acting. The scene is x-men apocalypse where Logan goes bezerk Statham would have done wonders to that scene.
I know you are

Should have been Peter Dinklage because they are both short and hairy.
