All the Lebron stans circle jerking isn't it.

He wasn't even top 10 before 2016.

I had him 5-7 (easily ahead of Kobe) BEFORE his most epic ring. He is now top 5 EASY. 2-5 all arguable. Have him at 3.

Cringe thread.
I really hope Kobe stans weren't as bad on this forum in the 08-10 circa, coz this is hard to read without cringing a few times

A more accurate assessment is that Lebron was considered top 10 before this year's title and is now widely considered top 5. Some have him as high as 3rd.

I think that can be attributed to a recency effect - the finals is still firmly in our memories and it was all time great in terms of drama, significance and LeBron's level of play. I think it'll settle down to a consensus top 7 position, with some top 5s and mainly LeBron stans going to top 3.

I don't think it's accurate at all to say he was "widely" considered top 5 before this year's title. That is some serious revisionist history, which is odd because it was only a few months ago. The general sentiment seemed to be that he was top 10, somewhere in the 5-10 range. It wasn't until after his finals performance that he began being consistently mentioned in the top 5.

But this Finals will still be firmly up in the front in BB fans memories for a long time.

Witnessing something that's never been done/seen before in the Finals and the fashion on the way it went down.

That's a huge catapult.

From now on (until it happens again) whenever a team is down 1-3 in the Finals....LeBron and the Cavs will be brought up. GSW record will be brought up.

There's absolutely nothing else it can be compared to or mistaken about.

Recency bias? :oldlol:

LeBron just put on the greatest performance in nba finals history:oldlol: This will never be forgotten and THIS, more than anything, is what seals his spot in the top tier.

Averaging 36, 12, 10, 3 , 3 as you bring your team back from an unprecedented 3-1 finals deficit against the only 73 win team in nba history while playing 2 games on the road is what closes the deal. You're either delusional or petrified of the prospect of James taking the 1st spot on the all time list, which is understandable given that you're a Jordan fan. But you're not fooling anyone. And you most certainly aren't fooling yourself.

Yup, MJ still widely regarded as consensus GOAT and it's not even close...the way the LeFam were carrying on, you'd think LBJ would really be challenging MJ for the top spot by now. :lol

ISH, RealGM, Ranker.com and other websites where hoops fans get to vote, MJ always carries about 70% of the top spot, (consensus) with LBJ carrying about high single digits...

The 73-win argument means nothing because it would mean Dwight Howard and Baron Davis > MJ..... since they beat 66-win teams and MJ didn't

So it's a bullshit argument

Ultimately, Lebron's 2nd option destroyed the Warriors' 1st option, so Lebron didn't overcome a talent deficit... The only talent deficit Lebron overcame was the 2007 ECF, but MJ overcame much more then that, as the previous post shows.

What do you think was Jordan's greatest finals victory?

Is the playoffs 1 round or 4 rounds?

If it's 4 rounds then Jordan's playoffs were 75% harder than Bran's.

Thanks.

The one where he scored 11 more ppg than Lebron's 2016 Finals on better efficiency, including a record 20 more than his 2nd option (a real carry-job)

What LeFamiglia fail to understand is that their Finals opponents in general were tougher because Le39bron was cakewalking through a historically weak EC, and when LeBron got to the Finals and met an actual contender, he usually lost...it's that simple. Translation, if James is in the WC during the 8 years Finals run, he isn't getting out of the West not even half the amount of times he did in the East.

OTOH, MJ played in a very good EC, stronger than the WC most of the time IIRC. Hence, MJ's playoffs runs to the Finals were harder.
