Well to tell you guys the truth, I'm more of a LeBron fan myself, but when I made the Excel I was surprised to see how many All-NBA and defensive All-NBA selections Kobe has...

And while I honestly think LeBron is a better player, remember that these guys are also a product of their eras, and Kobe did rack up tons of hardware (which was used to calcute this list)

Anyway, LeBron will catch up eventually anyways.

I'm 28, but how is that relevant? It was calculated by awards.

When you factor in win loss record against each other for 4-6

Kobe takes #4 all time

Duncan 5th

And Lebron is permanently always behind duncan because he went 5 for 16 against Duncan all time in the finals

Well I just used dry data and hardware as you can see on the bottom.

By the way about Bill Russell...
With 11 FMVPs he has 574 pts, still behind MJ.
With 6 FMVPs he's trailing KAJ by 2 points... So he needs at least 7 to move up past Kareem.

Championship shouldn't factor in that much. After all, winning it mostly depends if you have elite teammates or not.

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to the Lebron era. Where championship teams and championship leaders are criticized for being the best team in basketball :(

What's being criticized is putting too much value in championship in his formula, not criticizing championship teams and championship leaders.

It seems unbiased to me

This really shafts Wilt & Russell though since a few of these weren't even awarded in their era. DPOY didn't exist during Kareem's prime either

Personally I'd have Shaq over Wilt, this list was very well done. It didn't enlarge for me when I clicked it for some reason though.

Stop using team accomplishments to compare individual players

Mvps are chosen by writers who think steve Nash is worth as many trophies as Kobe/shaq combined.

If you want unbiased, objective ratings check this page http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/most_times_leading.html

There are two names that show up again and again atop every list, and it ain't kareem
