Rules:

24 hours to vote.
1 vote per poster.
Make it clear who you are casting your vote for.
Peak = 1 season + corresponding playoff (i.e., player A's peak lasting 2 years longer than player B's is irrelevant)
You do not need to specify which year (e.g., you can just say who the player is you are voting for)
I will post a new thread for each of the top 10.
Obvious votes attempting to derail poll with unworthy players will be disregarded
Votes with obvious misunderstanding of poll will be disregarded

It took an army of Shaq, Kobe, Malone, and Payton to take down KG in 2004 though.

Anyway, my vote is Westbrook.

This one is tough, but I say Dwight. He is the only remaining guy to carry a team to the Finals.

the joke is you not realizing we're talking about peaks. we're only comparing garnett 04 vs whatever dirk's peak is. he had nowhere near an army that year with minnesota.

i'm going go cp3 btw.

Dude averaged 24/13.5/4.5/1/1 against a stacked team. The only guy better than him that series was Shaq, and just barely. KG had to go against Malone with Shaq backing him up, while KG's primary post help was Michael Olowokandi and Ervin Johnson. This is after doing away with the Kings and their great front line.

Overall, KG averaged 24/14/5/1.5/2 for the season, and slightly better in the playoffs.

This was easily better than Dirk's peak.

2004 was a weird year all around.. no surprise KG never had nearly the same impact again. His efficiency was very mortal.

I was just looking at KG's stats. My god he was pathetic last season. Time to retire bud.

I don't get Curry at #2. That totally kills the list for me.

Don't get me wrong, he's a damn good player. But I'd definitely take prime Wade and KG over him ... possibly Durant too.

Hell, I'm not sure he'd crack my Top 10 list at all. The Warriors have built a great team, but strictly as an individual talent, he still has something to prove that Wade definitely has and others arguably have... that they are far and away the best players in the biggest situations in a championship season.

Wade and Dirk have both done it, in fact.

LeBron, KG, Dirk, Wade, Durant and Paul have legitimate arguments over Curry these past two seasons. I don't see anyone else who does, so at worst he should be #6. Who else would knock him out of the top 10? Westbrook? Rose? Melo? Come on

I would have to delve into it, but you look at a guy who was really good on several championship teams ... how about Pau Gasol? I'd definitely rank him over Rose and Westbrook at his peak. He had a huge impact on games, although he wasn't the star of the team.

The league has changed so much in the last 6 years, it is hard to compare, but that was before the "Super Team" trend.

Dirk at his peak was much more playoff suited than fckin KD and Curry, which makes this list a joke (also the low votes, its hardly a vote.. been like 15 ppl).

Here is the correct thing:

Bron
Wade/KG/Dirk
Curry
KD

I would argue Gasol has a case to be in that group. It has been a while since he was an elite player on a championship roster, but there was a time when the guy was putting up 19 points and 18 rebounds in a Finals Game 7. That's serious sh!t.

There's a reason the Lakers went from a borderline playoff team to a championship team with one move.

the reason is no other top 5 player alive had any sort of decent help, so Gasol and what LAL already had gave em a major boost. I agree Gasol might be next (although, actually hes definitely behind Griff/Russ), but the league didnt have the greatest of top teams in from '08-'10, particularly in the West.

It depends on what criteria were doing this.
If this is solely regular season statistical peak, then Curry should be number one after that monster season.
If this takes into account winning and post season play, it's a whole different story
