If you form a starting five of current players based on the state they were born, can any state beat team Ohio?

PG- Stephen Curry
SG- CJ McCollum
SF- Lebron James
PF-Jared Sullinger
C-Kosta Koufos

If you're saying Curry is from Ohio, then MJ is from NY.

MJ spent no portion of his cognative and formative existence being raised in New York. And when did I mention Curry?

Well the thread is, and MJ probably spent more time in Brooklyn than Curry did in Ohio. They both grew up in NC.

I don't know how you distinguish where a guy if "from" other than place of birth. I mean, what is the requisite time you must spend in a place and from what ages for it to be "from" that place? It can't be the high school years, because guys will literally move around to go to basketball schools, like Melo did with Oak Hill.

Oh I agree. Place of birth on a birth certificate lists where you came out of the womb, not where you spent your formative years. It's just people get really pissy whenever it's mentioned that Jordan is from NY. He's literally the only athlete people do that for. No one ever has a problem saying Curry is from Akron.

Kyrie was born in Australia. That's a little different, though, because you're talking about an American family having a kid while working abroad.

True. Plus all his formative years, specifically basketball wise, were spent in the States. His game is entirely east coast. Especially the flashy handle.

Kobe too. People always cite the 7 years he spent in Italy with his American family. But he was born and raised in Philly area. Lived there until 7 and was back again as a 14 year old. Kaman however isn't German, dude is a traitor ... Noah isn't from France either. Good riddance to both.

Flip Saunderz has been, was and will always be an honorary Minnesotan though. Even before his death he was "one of us"
