I always loved that dunk and wondered why it doesnt come up often in talks of Kobes best....but it doesnt have the significance for such a label to me.

The Kobe/Shaq alley to really slam the door on the 2000 WCF might be the best combo of great play, crowd reaction, and significance a dunk ever had.

Had Lebron finished that dunk at the end of game 7 it would have beat it out....but he didnt.

Starks on the Bulls is up there too....KJ on Hakeem as well. And Baron on AK47 I feel a need to mention. And Jordans most famous poster(on Ewing) was in the playoffs too.

Just honorable mentions.

Gotta say it has had some air time in another thread recently, but that dunk by Reggie on the Nets was always a favorite of mine.

There are about 20 playoff dunks better than the one in OP. Not sure why that's there lol.

Personally, Pippen over Ewnng in 94 (?)
Jordan over Ewing in game 3 in 91
Lebron over Garnett in game 6 in 08
Wade over Ibaka (in 2012?)
Starks vs Grant (Jordan closing in as well)
Kj vs Hakeem
Shaq vs Robinson in 99
Jordan vs Portland game 1 in 92 (the second half alley oop from the baseline)
Kemp In 96 ( i don't remember the specific game)
Lebron alley oop game 3 2016

What I'm noticing about this clip is the cascading failure of the defense as the offense moves the ball correctly. Shaq having the ball so deep forces KG to slightly stretch the defense, understandably. The ball then correctly goes to Horry. This forces Troy Hudson to stretch the defense even more, also understandably (can't expect KG to recover). This is a shot an even mediocre 3pt shooter would take by today's standards (and is probably as good as it gets in the playoffs) but Horry instead passes to Fisher. The pass only makes sense if Horry is resetting and unwilling to shoot, because although Fisher isn't closely guarded he's not as open as Horry was. The defense should be able to recover by now, if KG were to properly rotate. Though even if KG didn't stutter step, Fisher would've been able to get a shot off under some duress. But Kendall Gill ****s up and rotates there instead. Now KG is left to dry and Fisher sees that Kobe will get an open lane to the basket.

I guess teams were still getting used to zone back then. This was, what, a year since illegal defense was removed?

KD's dunk on Haywood deserves a mention too.

Inescure b*tch.

Kobe's dunk was nominated for TNT's All Decade (2000-2009) "Best Playoff Dunk" category by a panel of experts and then voted on as THE BEST by the fans. (including beating out two of LeBron's, Davis over AK47, Kobe-to-Shaq Alley, and TMac on Bradley)

So the NBA has been around for 70 years (7 decades), and Kobe's dunk was voted as Best Playoff Dunk of THE DECADE (2000s), meaning at absolute worst it's the 7th best playoff dunk of all time in NBA history.

 @ you going on and listing a bunch of dunks that don't come anywhere close to this. And :lol @ you trying to slip some unmemorable LeBron alleyoop in there. You really are an insecure b*tch, aren't you. Why don't you go back to stanning Curry like you were when the Dubs were up 3-1?

I swear everything Kobe does is underwhelming and unimpressive. His stans love hyping up lackluster stuff. I guess that's why he's the most overrated player in history though.
