Do you guys think this will work out for us..?

I mean, I love Thibs. I like how his teams overachieved.
But it always felt like his team's offense was vanishing at the most important times, and that 4-0 sweep by the wizard really left a bad mark on his resume I think.

Still, I don't think we could have gotten a better coach from those avaliable.

What do you guys think?
Would we have been better off with Vogel, Blatt or someone else? Maybe even that Messina guy from San antonoi (Former CSKA Moscow coach)

You got the best coach available, though Vogel is probably right there next to him.
Getting a strict coach that makes you play defense and who comes from a winning culture is the best thing that could happen to a young team, and should create good habits.
Look how bad Chicago's defense looked at the end of last season, one a year removed from Thibs. Their offense got worse as well.

Thibs is one of the best basketball coaches in the world. I would be pretty happy.

The only con I can think of Thibs is he plays his players too much and doesn't seem to trust his bench.

I don't know about that.

The 11' Bulls had a pretty great bench, often used.
Belineli, Korver and Asik among others.
He seems to use his bench well when he has a good bench.

He turned guys like D.J Augustin and Taj Gibson into really reliable 6th man.
I do agree that he plays his stars too much.

Funny. Last year, all I heard from Bulls fans was that he's overrated and they would be "more versatile" because they could employ a so-called offense.

Look how that turned out...

Thibs has one of, if not THE greatest defensive minds in modern basketball. Cannot wait to see what he orchestrates in Minny, specifically with Towns and the WIREY athletic wings they have.

My only concern with the Wolves is how Wiggins and Lavine will evolve as go-to creators in important moments.

KAT is a basketball god in the making, I have zero concerns about him whatsoever. But as a center he's not going to be able to bring the ball up and create off the dribble at will, he'll rely on his perimeter guys to make the right decisions a lot.

And I'm not super optimistic that Wiggins and Lavine can develop into that. Lavine is a gunner first and Wiggins' handles & passing instincts are kinda weak. I'm not sure what Rubio's future is on that team, I hope it works out but I think he's on a different team in the next year or two. I think the hope is that Dunn can develop into the floor general, have to wait and see.

The Bulls fell apart from injuries. Some blame Thibs overplaying guys, but I don't think that's why NOah is fragile and Rose's knee blew out multiple times. JMO

I think he was an absolutely amazing hire for you guys. He's in the very top tier of coaches to me. He also has the perfect collection of talent for his skillset. He loves multi-big lineups(Dieng/Towns can be his new Asik/Noah) and he has perimeter length and athleticism in guys like Wiggins,Dunn and Rubio. If he can get Lavine to defend.....

This is the best coach available, having said that, yes your concerns are legit esp with what happened vs the wizards. Hopefully he learned from his mistakes.
