White historians, in their bid to make ancient Europeans seem White, have chosen to ignore the "obvious" relationships that must have existed between Berbers and the people of iberia. When Grimaldi crossed the Gibraltar straits to enter Europe, all of his kind did not follow. When Humans move to new territories "Most" stay behind in the old territory, and they "maintain" their relationships; there is always back and forth travel for trade and communication. They were called "Moors" because they were the Berber tribes from the former Roman province of Mauritania (not to be confused with the modern country of the same name) which loosely means "land of the Mauri".

This is not prehistoric history. This is well recorded. Berbers from modern day Morocco would not be called "moors" because Morocco is no longer part of Mauritania as it was centuries ago.

Eh, if I had to guess (and this is strictly my opinion), it was the basis that whites who colonized Africa found many of the Africans there were tribal, uneducated, unsophisticated. To white Europeans of the time, they were likely more apt to see Africans as some sort of animal than an actual human.

Especially given, at the time, that many on Earth and in Europe probably had little to no contact with blacks at any point in their lives; it seems unlikely that a kingdom of Africans that was defeated and slaughtered caused animosity and hatred.

I didn't learn a lot of shit in school. I barely even remember having history classes, and I went to one of the top middle school/high schools in Kentucky (which was then, and is, nationally ranked).We were taught basically nothing about Christianity (religion was kind of a hush hush topic) unless it pertained to historical events.

But let'snot get ahead of ourselves.. they didn't run 'most of Europe'. They ran Spain.

Except the timelines don't match up... exactly. I think this is one of those 'cause and effect' type things where the effect isn't caused by the cause.

Everyone was uncivilized until the Renaissance, more or less. Sure, some cities and kingdoms were more civilized than others, but it was true. It's not like when the Moors arrived, all of a sudden they brought new technology into the world.

They did, but let's not go overboard with it here. Scholars will unanimously agree that the Renaissance began in Florence, Italy. The social and political structures in Italy were different than in most of the rest of Europe, which can likely be attributed to their trading success. It's possible they may have picked up a thing or two from their travels, but to assume that Europe was devoid of intelligence (while conquering the known world several times) wouldn't be accurate.
