Disagree. Not mentioning KG and Dirk, amongst others, is absurd.

Top 5 is probably Shaq, Duncan, KG, Dirk, Dwight.

Wow this really shed light on the ability of someone whose name hasn't been mentioned to win despite being blessed to play alongside the world's most dominant bigs.

Anyway, OP is correct. You could argue that KG, Pau, Dirk, D12 were the four bigs occupying the tier of greatness just a tick below Shaq and Duncan.

But Pau and D12 definitely at the very least share that tier, if not occupy it exclusively. They are sure-fire HOFers and are absolutely the dominant bigs of their eras.

Shaq over Duncan.

There was nothing in the world like prime Shaq. Compared to prime Shaq, Duncan was a peon. He is still top 10 all-time, don't get me wrong. But he can't be above Shaq. That's just pure revisionism. That's like saying Hakeem was better than Shaq.

To make an analogy to Glengarry Glen Ross, Duncan gets the steak knives. Shaq gets the company car. That's the difference between 35ppg in the Finals and being "solid", hitting a jumper here, getting a putback there, while Tony Parker walks away with the Finals MVP in your prime. Always Be Closing.

On the other hand, Duncan was better for way longer, brought all the intangibles, and you never had to worry about his conditioning or free throw shooting....

Gasol >>> Dwight

bruh.....Gasol never even made first team NBA. He never received an MVP vote

Dwight got MVP votes in 5 different season. He has more 1st team all NBA selections than Gasol has 2nd and 3rd COMBINED

PLUS his DPOTY awards. And he went to the finals as the best player on his team.

I would take Gasol over Howard anyday mostly because Gasol is much more of an intelligent player...

Shaq may be Roma and the Cadillac El Dorado, but that hardly makes Duncan one of the ordinary office bums who get the steak knives.

Duncan could still go out there, TONIGHT, with the teammates most players have, and make himself a deep playoff run. In two hours. Can Kobe? Can Curry?
