http://www.nba.com/news/features/john_schuhmann/2016-17-nba-rookie-survey/index.html

1. Kevin Durant, Golden State -- 29.7%

T-2. Carmelo Anthony, New York -- 9.4%

LeBron James, Cleveland -- 9.4%

Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City -- 9.4%

T-5. LaMarcus Aldridge, San Antonio -- 6.3%

Kobe Bryant (retired) -- 6.3%

Paul George, Indiana -- 6.3%

Chris Paul, L.A. Clippers -- 6.3%

T-9. Kevin Garnett, Minnesota -- 4.7%

Others receiving votes: Vince Carter, Memphis; Stephen Curry, Golden State; Marc Gasol, Memphis; Kyrie Irving, Cleveland

Last year: Kevin Durant -- 21.2%

Worth noting: KD joining the Warriors apparently didn't turn off the rookies. In fact, this is the third straight year that he was named the new guys' favorite player and he received a greater percentage of the vote this year than he did in 2014 (25.0 percent) or 2015 (21.2 percent).

They pick the player who they can relate to and copy their game off. Who really can copy LeBron's game? His unique blend of size/athleticism/skill is generational.

Lol. Its actually the other way. If you want to win rings, be like durant. If you want to win mvps, then be a statpadder like bran. Being an all around master of none is much easier than being an elite scorer

You are truly delusional, or mentally insane. LeBron is a 3x NBA Champion while Durant is still ringless.

I hope you aren't a Muslim because with your mentality many people are going to get hurt. I hope someone punch you in the head. That might turn you into a normal person.

According to this genius, if you want to win rings, be like the dude who has 0 instead of the one who has 3 titles/FMVP's

i don't know. Not sure why he is so likeable for these guys. No charisma at all, and comically unclutch.

Durant? Winning a ring? :yaohappy:

Lol, it's inevitable I think. No way does Golden State not win at least 1 ring. They'll realistically probably win 2-3 if everyone stays healthy

This isn't surprising at all. Durant's the most clutch player in the league, and maybe in league history. He's the best ISO scorer on Earth, and he's also a great teammate. Its not hard to recognize that stuff. Obviously most of the younger guys coming into the league now have been inspired by Durant for years.... since high school.... so this is pretty standard stuff

He was especially clutch the last 3 games of the WCF. His 4th quarter performance in Game 6 was the stuff of legends

Against a 73-win team playing alongside Westbrick, you're damn right taking the Warriors to 7 was the stuff of legends. He had no help whatsoever.
