Both went 0/22 in finals MVP votes

Curry without question

Though Curry was also much older with much better teams

I've made the argument before that crucifying Curry for his first 2 Finals isn't really fair seeing as Bron wasn't exactly looking good during his first two, but trolls gonna troll. Hopefully it doesn't become a usual thing for Curry and he picks his game up in the biggest series of the season, he'll have no excuses if he doesn't pick it up

Curry's 2015 was by far the best of the bunch, but the 3 other ones were atrocious

Lebron, as a 22 year old, led the worst finalists in nba history to the finals only to see himself swarmed by defenders. It doesnt make sense to penalise a guy for being good enough to nearly single handedly overcome the Pistons as a 22 year old and get to the finals. If he had come up short, and not made the finals as an unpolished player in his 2nd playoff appearance, would that have been better?

Well the 07 Cavs certainly had no business in the Finals that year. They flat out overachieved. Though I'm not sure it's fair to both elevate Lebron for this then excuse him for the Finals themselves.

But that's what I'm saying. You're comparing a 22 year old unpolished lebron who was facing triple teams and was the focal point of the entire spurs' defense, to other players who were closer to their prices or faced nowhere near the defensive focus that Lebron did in that series.

I'm not. A bad performance is a bad performance. But let's apply some context here. That appearance was difference than last year's reigning MVP Curry making his 1st finals at 27 - his prime.

Definetly Curry.

But Lebron redeemed himself since.

I wonder if Curry will.
Who knows, he might.

But with KD on the team I doubt he'll ever win FMVP.

Although as such a big Kobe stan OP you should know Kobe didn't receive a single FMVP vote through his first 5 Finals

Curry had just turned 27( and in his 6th season) in his first finals. Lebron was 26 in 2011( and in his 8th season) in his second. I don't give Bron shit for 2007, because frankly that Cavs team massively overachieved. No excuses for 2011 though, in his peak, 8 years in the league and an experienced playoff vet by that point. The Bulls were a tougher defensive squad and he played exponentially better against them.

So your saying Steph wasnt the focal point of the Cavs defense in the 16 finals :applause:

I don't blame LeBron for his 2007 performance because the Cavs were clearly outmatched. That said, if LeBron is going to get credit for consistently making the Finals in a historically weak Eastern Conference, then he should also be judged for his failures in the NBA Finals.
