Who's better?

Kyle Lowry seasons stats

21/5/6

Kyrie season stats

19/3/5

So Lowry has more points, rebounds, and assists and is the 1st option on a 55 win team

Kyrie has better handles, and is the 2nd option on a 57 win team

Who's better?

ECF 2016:

Kyrie Irving: 24.2 PPG on 48% along with 4.5 APG

Kyle Lowry: 20.2 PPG on 47% along with 4.2 APG

Hilarious to see Lowry get destroyed by the opposing pg who wasn't even an allstar :oldlol:

Irving is a lot better. Statistics don't tell the whole story.

Lowry was better during the RS, mostly due to Kyrie being hurt.
Kyrie was better during the PO and outplayed Lowry in the ECF.
The only reason you have to take that with a grain of salt is because Lowry is the 1st option with a choking Derozan and offensively not much help because JV isn't used properly. While Kyrie was the 2nd option on a much better team, obviously with Lebron getting a lot of defensive attention.

They're equals to me, Kyrie is way more clutch, but I don't think he's viewed the same if Lebron wasn't on the Cavs.

Going forward, you have to take Kyrie.

Worth mentioning Lowry was hurt in the playoffs which explains his struggles some. Lowry was definitely better in the regular season, but Kyrie looks like he's poised to breakout and should be the better player from now on, barring anything unforeseen.

Wouldn't call that destroyed, basing it just off the stats at least. Lowry certainly did better against Kyrie than ZVC did :oldlol:

Lowry was hurt in the playoffs, which affected his numbers. Kyrie was hurt in the regular season, which affected his numbers. Can't be inconsistent.

uh .. no, thats a load of bullshit. I watched all the playoff games this year and both kyle and his buddy demar were frozen stiff choking their asses off in the playoffs. They were a hair away from being put to sleep in the first round as a 2 seed by paul george and scrubs.

Raptors don't even make the ECF if you replace Lowry with Kyrie :confusedshrug:

Um...Lowry was hurt. Certainly was downright awful in the early part of the playoffs, but I'm pretty sure he had bursitis on his arm or something the last part of the season.

Kyrie is a much better offensive player. Lowry is the better defender though. He can be a real pitbull on that side of the ball.

Let's put it this way, if a trade for the 2 were ever proposed, the Cavs would br the team to say no.

Not necessarily a good argument. I doubt the Cavs would trade Kyrie for CP3 (who's clearly better), due to age.

Kyrie is a safe bet to be better in 2017 though.

Better than Lowry, not CP3 I mean.

So the Cavs would say no to a trade where they receive a 21/6/5 player with elite defense for a 19/3/5 player with worse defense? :facepalm :oldlol:

Thank god you're not a GM

Yeah they'd hang up the phone. Kyrie hasn't even hit his prime yet, Lowry is over 30. Choosing Lowry going forward is idiotic :hammerhead:

Dray N Klay would probably trade Porzingis for current Dirk.

Yea they would. Lebron would ok that trade in a heartbeat for his bff.

Kyrie and cp3 are elite talent, top 5 quality picks. Lowry is not. Lowry is a guy who has over achieved, and has capped out on his talent.

That could backfire though. CP3 could fall off soon, and we don't know what Kyrie is going to look like at his peak (no one expected Curry to be scoring 30 PPG when he was Kyrie's age for instance). I think it's too risky.

I doubt it. Chris Paul is clearly better, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to trade for a ball-dominant playmaker like that when you have Lebron James. What the Cavs need from Kyrie is what he gives them...great scoring. Given the huge age gap...there is zero chance the Cavs would do this trade. It doesn't matter what Lebron would want...the front office would never let this happen. I know Lebron and CP3 are friends...but I don't see why he'd want to play with him...there games don't match up well together...unless you know something I don't and Lebron is going to start playing more off ball as he gets older.

Forgetting about age/health, CP3 qbing with Lebron finishing would be absolutely devastating. You'd never hear Lebron moaning about his pg not getting assists anymore, and Lebron would probably shoot 65% from the field.

Lowry is the better all around player BUT Kyrie is the better player. Kyrie is so explosive scoring wise that it supercedes the advantages Lowry has on him.

Good point. Similar to how Curry's production took a hit after his injury during the playoffs.

Kyrie is quite obviously more talented and that showed in the playoffs. Lowry is the better player in the sense that he does more things well and is generally a more well rounded player, but he has limitations mentally and probably a bit size wise as well that really hurt him in tighter situations. Lowry is built for the regular season, Kyrie is built for the playoffs.

Keep hearing that Lowry was playing hurt in the playoffs, though, so who knows.
